Re: Never, never, never give up
Thanks a lot guys. Yes I'm ultra chuffed to say the least. Now to get a bit of flight time in although the weather as turned to rain and thunder storms here. Still, I've learned a great deal. The 3gx is okay for now. It's very twitchy getting the rudder correct. It really does have to be dead centre...

Re: Never, never, never give up
Thanks both. I went back to 3gx because it was the cheapest option. Money very tight this year. I will have to start selling my body. I tried selling me brain but there were no takers lol. I agree when finances allow will get a brain or ikon and something a little larger because they are more stable...

Never, never, never give up
Finally after a long, long saga. After blood was spilled and sweat was shed I have finally got my old battered 450 to fly. This afternoon the maiden, maiden, maiden, maiden +100 odd maidens it finally flew with some semblance of control. The koala vbar was ditched and I went back to the 3gx. There wa...

Re: Gyro setup help
Thanks for all the nice wishes guys. Very kind of you all. I still can not work out where I went wrong and how the pitch was working opposite
to the throttle because all the software said everything was working in the right direction so still baffled. Cheers

Re: Gyro setup help
The stories end. We have come to the end. I discovered and how this occured I really do not know but when I apply throttle and spool up the pitch was in fact going negative in stead of positive that's why there was lots of vibration because the heli was infact driving itself into the ground. I found...

Re: Gyro setup help
Hi, Well the story so far. I thought this was going to be a simple rebuild. lol. So far I have installed new tail box, new head, main bearings. I did notice that the motor mount was installed upside down so rectified that error and still getting bad vibration so much so that the ferrell drive on the...

Re: Gyro setup help
Cheers Graham. Recovering slowly thanks. Found number one fault on heli in that the swash bearing as gone oval so the swash is jumping around. Also bearing in tail box as almost disintergrated. So getting there slowly. I have all the spares so no problem. Doing a bit here and there between coughing ...

Re: Gyro setup help
Hi Graham. Kev lives quite far away unfortunately. I will begin stripping down boom first and
see what is going on. I don't mind the building just need a little patience and replace things one at a time to
see if I can find the problem. Cheers

Re: Gyro setup help
Just to let you know about the heli. Well, I think this maybe a bin job. After extensive rebuild there is so much vibration that the thing also destroys it self on spool up. lol. Even with the main blades removes there is still so much vibration it's almost like an electric shock when touching the b...

Re: Gyro setup help
Hi Graham. Hope you and the family are well. The FBL unit is the one Tony gave me. I thought is was dead but that turned out to be a faulty lead. I did have problems getting the drivers to work in my ancient laptop but lots of reading on the net sorted that out. The unit is a Vbar chinese copy but i...

Re: Gyro setup help
Hi all. Well after a long wait finally got some spares to get this heli flying again. Hopefully weather permitting it will be at least hovering. Got new head. new tail. All new shafts, main drive, bearings, skids and finally dumped the spectrum fbl unit so with a little luck and a fair wind it will ...

Re: Gyro setup help
Hi Lee thanks for the reply. I have found out after a lot of research that there is no rate mode on the Kbar unless you program in the bank switching. It works in HH mode only. To answer your question. Yes it does and I can see the values of the switch positions. Reading on the net most users set th...

Re: Gyro setup help
Hi pvolcko thanks for the info. The problem I am having is that although I have 57.5 in pos 0 -6.5 pos 1 and 0 in pos 2. I have the channel set to gear and sw to gyro. I can not switch out of HH mode to get rate mode even when I switch through 0 to 2 there is no difference. So I think that I have se...

Re: Gyro setup help
Thanks Graham I will give that a try. I keep reading about bank switching in the vbar to get the gyro to work
but I think that is when you using a seperate rx with the vbar. I am using 2 sats so I think the set up is different.

I managed to get it working after a lot of messing around with dirvers on my old windows computer. Anyway all setup on the software side but what do you set the gyro to in the tx....
