Re: Night flyer

That looked like fun. :)
Last time I tried to fly at night I lost $500 worth of quad.
It was too dark and I lost sight of where I was, what I thought was home was not.
All the lights looked the same.
Won't do it again without GPS and RTH and some sort of strobe light at home.

Re: Naze 32:)

Slowly phasing out my Naze boards, got two more F4s coming to get rid of the last one. (One spare)
Jacobs quad will soon be able to run the latest Betaflight acro training mode, get him away from self level.
I have used a couple of the old Naze boards as flight stabilisers in fixed wings though.

Re: Makayla and HER boat

Wow, she is 5 already? When did that happen, it seems like just the other day she was being born. She looks very happy, I am sure she will love it. Even on 3s that thing will haul. Next you will be looking to waterproof some FPV gear. :) Jacob and I have been having a lot fun with 4wd offroad trucks...

Re: Phoenix No More! !?

Real shame about Phoenix.
Maybe just too many free or pirated ones out there now.

Hey Graham, instead of taking pics of your screen, have you heard of windows "Snipping Tool".
Built in screen capture since way back.
Really simple to use, and the pic is already on your PC.

That thing looks absolutely scary, I would make sure everyone is well away when you put it in the air.
I have been watching some of that X class racing, terrifying and exciting all in one.
Make sure that video has sound, I really want to hear it as well. :D

Re: Drone Rant:)

I saw the video he is talking about ages ago. I don't disagree with him, if it was the other way round, there would be hell to pay. The Mavic guy would have been demonised. Flying that Mavic so close to people was stupid, flying the heli that close was a potential disaster, pilot should have his lic...

Re: RunCam 2/ WiFi action camera

Damn Dog, your piloting skills have come a long way since I last watched one of your videos.
I have been looking for another cam, I may consider one of these.
I can imagine the video quality would have been even better before YouTube got their compression on it too.

New Toys

We have a lot of days here that it is too windy to fly, especially for Jacob, so I bought a couple of these. https://www.banggood.com/Wltoys-A979-118-2_4Gh-4WD-Monster-Truck-p-916960.html?rmmds=search&ID=229 Seeing as how they are from WLToys, the same company that makes the little V911 helicopt...

The other advantage of the OTG device is it can turn any android phone or tablet that supports it into a simple DVR.

Re: BlHeli question?

I just wanted to try the runcam2 out because it has WiFi so the wife can watch on her phone when I fly. Be careful on your first few flights, transmitting WiFi from a camera that close to your rx antenna could give you control problems. WiFi uses 2.4 and 5.8, both of the frequencies we use for cont...

Re: A brown out problem?

Do you have problems with any other models on the same TX?
I would be trying another RX, or at least do a range test on the current one and a few other models to see if there is a huge difference.

Re: Derek is working on a new Ground Station

I have the Furious True-D sitting on my goggle and it is every bit as good as the old Immersion Duo on my ground station, just far more portable which is the main reason I got it.
Be interesting to see the results you get with that Dock King.

Re: Gemini V2 UAV Build Thread

Can you use an FRSKY L9R, that will give you a bit more range I believe but not sure if you can get the required channels with it.
It says 9/12 channel.

Re: Flight Controller Orientation

Yes you are correct Derek, just be careful when make trim adjustments. Not sure about current version, I need to update and try it but when I was trying to adjust my Nano Talon for level flight I took me a while to find that Inav still used the original orientation for roll and pitch trim adjustment...

Re: Gonna get a Taranis X9D but I need help

Derek, if you are gonna use a flight controller it takes care of the control surfaces and motor via sbus, but I am not sure you can still use the other channels via pwm whilst using sbus. My quads have an xsr4 (4 channel) but via sbus I can still have 16 channels to the FC. I believe you can use oth...

Re: I hope this is fake

I think it's CG, for a plane to be that low it would have to be either about to land or just taken off.
I can't see any airports in either direction, for something like that it would have to be a pretty big airport.
But if I am wrong, what an absolute tosser, hope he gets caught and goes to jail.
