Mini Cooper "toy" to awesome machine

After completing this conversion several weeks ago, as shown in member builds, Derek had still not seen it run in person so I included it when I loaded up the car for today's outing of planes, helicopters, boat and "car". For this posting there seemed no reason to trim out anything as you folks seem to enjoy our banter. And there is plenty of that. When I ran it solo it is harder(impossible) to get such video. There is still a complete interior in this car and yes, there is a cute brunet driving with functioning seat belts in place.(as shown below the video)

Enjoy. I updated the video to include some captions.

Nice little car to drive while the birds are cooling off. Good Idea.

Thanks DOG! I'm gonna tell you something that you probably won't believe. That car weighs nearly 9lbs, lol. It weighs more than my Trex 600 Pro DFC, lol, but the upgrades that Dad did to it are fantastic and he's quite happy with the results.

FPV on that Mini would be a lot of fun with one exception. There is NO suspension on it at all. It's a very rigid and solid frame and I think every single bump would bounce the fpv cam all over the place. But....it would be a good deal of fun!!!

Found the same when I put FPV on my modded 350z nissan.
Very bouncy but it was fun.
Once I found a smoother surface to try it on it was much better.

Done the same with my tank if you recall. Bumpy but great fun nevertheless..

I learned decades ago to never say NEVER. Currently I have no plans to invest in a FPV system but after watching this...you never know what next year may bring. As Derek pointed out, this Mini Cooper currently has NO suspension at all. And, looking at this video, I can see that the wind screen was definitely NOT made to be looked through. Between the scratches, distortion and the muting of the colors in the video it could be improved...a bit. But still I was pleasantly impressed. I could easily see setting up a course with orange cones and such and making a run at it. This car was once a well used, sad "toy" but now can literally run circles around most anything at Walmart. This video was shot with the 720P Action Camera. 1 minute 40 seconds long.

Thanks Ken! This Mini Cooper isn't the same machine that it once was, lol. It began as a "toy-grade" car and now it's quite fast. Dad will surely have to replace the tires next year, lol.
