Re: IT BEGINS!
So I got off work(on my day off..hehehe) an hour early yesterday to run by HobbyTown and grab some washers to shim my rpm backplate sensor mount(need to lift the sensor just a little) & some 3x10mm screw for the motor mount(the 3x12mm screws are a tad too long).. This morning I went downstairs to the Lab to begin work... Got the sensor mount squared away.. Put the motor in for another try at dry fit.. The 3x10mm I bought to replace the stock 3x12 screws looked way short.. So I grabbed my calipers (should have done that the first go round).. They are 10mm as the bag said.. So I grabbed the ones that were too long.. They are not 3x12mm as stated in the manual.. 3x15mm.. A little longer actually.. So.. I'm gonna run back to Hobby Town for the 12mm or just break out the Dremel & cut these..

Did you move the sensor to the bottom were it should be or did you leave it on top

Re: IT BEGINS!
I've left it on top for now.. A team pilot here said it was fine.. So I'll see if it's ok there when I start the wiring & testing prior to the maiden. With the backplate off u can see where the sleeve doesn't get that low.. Has a kinda cutaway right there.. We'll see.

Re: IT BEGINS!
Yep and the backplate has a lip right there for were the piston come down to
That lip is what is stopping your sensor from going in all the way. I would think that lip is thiker and would make it hard for the sensor to l ick up the crank pin through.

Re: IT BEGINS!
Well.. I think it's gonna have to prove itself once I get the electronics in and see what's up.. At this point I can only guess. Now have the tank installed.. Shroud too..

Re: IT BEGINS!
Been work'n the past week & haven't got much done.. This morning I installed the all gears.. Main, auto, tail.. Put the head on.. Basically finished the dry fit with a few issues... I'll probably explain all issues that I ran into later on and give what I think u might run into if one of u guys ever gets this model. I did do a mod this morning tho.. This kit has thumb screws to mount the canopy..forward and aft... Well this is a nitro so I didn't want the hassle of taking the canopy on & off all the time.. And when I needed to.. Just wanted it easier.. So I saw online guys were using the canopy mounts off the N7 and using the for this.. So I did it..got the clip mounts in the front done.. Tonight I'll do the keychain mounts on the rear.. Progress

I"m sure I'll be regretting my decision against an E5 and going with the Gob 570 instead.

Re: IT BEGINS!
I really do like the design of the Synergy helis. Would have been good to support a US biz. And they are relatively uncommon, unlike the goblins (Be Original... yeah right, maybe 2 years ago). I like the goblins, don't get me wrong. But I went into the search for the new 550 size heli wanting a pod and boom style heli. Synergy fit that bill. Who knows. Maybe next year.

Re: IT BEGINS!
The design looks top top notch. I saw a 550 at hotter n heli and it looked beefy for a 550.

Re: IT BEGINS!
Ok.. Just got the iKon & TM1000 bound to the DX9... preliminary iKon set up done so I can start hooking up the servos and figuring out placement of all the electronics so I can get them cleaned up & braided... Special thanks to Derek who was right on time with the telemetry module... Been play'n with it for the last hour.. I like it so much I may get another for the 550.. AWESOME!

Re: IT BEGINS!
Off work today... Earlier this week on my day off I ended up handling doc appointment & house stuff as Keena & Wesley were/are sick.. She's got streep & little man has an ear infection... Now today I must be getting a bit of it cause I feel so weak & tired.. But I did do some work on the N5C.. Got the servo tray ready for mounting, plumbed the engine & tank... installed the PushGlo, power switch, telem wires, & did all the braiding/shrinking etc..... Think I'm gonna grab some lunch & take a nap.

Re: IT BEGINS!
Ok... Got it all in.. Pretty clean.. I like it.. Seems as tho I couldn't get away from trusty Align stuff on this build.. 3way filter, horns, & hook'n'loop.. I think it's funny. Just gotta get my tail fin back.. Buddy at work does airbrush work & is painting my fin neon green... run the connections to the sats and start program'n.. Due to my work schedule.. I think the maiden it's two weeks from today.

Re: IT BEGINS!
Well.. She's done.. Did the first start today.. Let about a half a tank idle thru then flew a tank hovering. Definitely different than electric.. To be honest, a lot more intimidating as well. I'd like to thank Lee & Derek for helping me obtain a few parts needed for the build.. Thanks! No video of the maiden.. Left my hat cam rig at home.. It's a job to pack everything nowadays without forgetting something.
