Falcon EVO (rekit)

I ordered the new kit for the electronics for this build as I am not happy with the current airframe as it's been crashed and bashed while I have been learning to hand launch the thing.

This time around I've ordered some laminate for the foam and will not be doing a fancy colour scheme, just some black stripes on the bottom of the wings for LOS testing.

I've salvaged the wingless off the mk1 EVO and I'm planning to make a second set of stabilisers that will be installed about an inch out from the fuse, and I'm also planning on modifying the outer stabs.

Electronics are

Savox 0257mg
Rc timer 30a esc
Sunny sky 2212 1400kv
Hobby wing 5A bec
Frsky x8r
Rmrc dodo. F3 target running inav.
Ublox m8n gps + mag
Minimosd. Running LTMOSD
Luminere 200mw 5.8g vtx
Sony 700tvl ccd

The kit should be with me in the next day or two.

Pictures to follow

No not completely, I've been waiting for some parts for the kreiger and need to strip it down to get to the rx so that I can bind it with my taranis. As usual time is in short supply.
I must say that I have been quite enjoying flying the wing LOS.
I should hopefully get kreiger sorted out this coming week and start getting some flights in soon. I've been itching to fpv for a while.

Lol, I got my Trex 500 out on the weekend, looked at it for a while then put back on the shelf to gather more dust and flew my quad.

My kit arrived this morning and as per the last one its quality.
I know I said no fancy colour scheme but wile I was in the car spares shop this morning I spotted some orange paint and got it as well as a can of black.

All the foam is painted and the wooden sections of the fuse are glued and drying.

The wings have a bit of over spray on them because I was lazy

I'm going to have a go at laminating the wings after I've had a break

Haha couldn't live with the over spray. So I just added to it.

I like the effect. Gives it a hunger games feel... or at least what I imagine to be a hunger games feel. I haven't seen the movies yet. :)

It looks good on the shelf but I'm not sure how visible it's going to be in the air.

I managed to get the wings laminated last night, which has made the colours slightly darker than the above photos.

Jobs for today are to glue the wing spar in the fuse, laminate the fuse and then fix the wings and winglets

Nice going mate, it's FPV mate your not going to worry about the colour in the air,

That's pretty cool! I agree with Kev...once you get your FPV stuff on it, the color scheme won't even be important. As for the first few LOS flights...just keep it relatively close and I think you'll do just fine.

Thanks guys.

I got some more done yesterday. Laminated the fuse attached the wings to the fuse, motor mount, winglets and elevens. The airframe is ready for the electronics to be installed

I've got most of the foam cut out for the electronics everything apart from the hole for the he cam.

Installed electronics and run all cables to the fuse

Look away now if you've got wire ocd.

The maiden didn't go to well. The flight itself was fine but when I came into land it was hit by a cross wind and went in quite hard on the port wing, snapping it clean off the fuse. The damage is fatal as it snapped the wing spar right at the root of the wing and because I made such a good job of glueing it in the is no way to repair the damage.
At this moment myself and the falcon EVO kits are done. I'm going to look into another fixed wing craft, maybe something with an under carriage or maybe not.
I like the look of the mini sky hunter as it has a massive cargo area for FC and massive batteries.
