FT Arrow

After building the FT Sparrow and finding how easy foam scratch builds can be I have decided to build an FT Mini Arrow.
I have the foam board and plans at home ready to go, I ordered motors, servos, ESCs (double of each so I have spares) and some batteries on the weekend so they are probably 3 to 4 weeks away.
I could just take the stuff off the sparrow but then I would have one less plane to crash.
And I only have one small battery at the moment so I will just wait.
The Sparrow is fun to fly but does not roll so well and I want something I can throw around and not worry to much when I crash it.
I think Derek is contagious, so many projects happening at once.

lmao...i'll take that as a compliment, ha ha ha.
Dude....I've seen many videos of the FT Sparrow and the FT Arrow and they just look like really good planes. And yes....building with foam really is quite easy. Flite Test has some amazing build methods. Experimental Airlines has some amazing build methods. I really enjoy both sources.

Progress report.
The wings are cut, folded and glued, now to stick them together.

Woohoo, ready for a maiden.
I think I may have overdid the motor a bit, this thing wants to go vertical at half throttle.
If I hold it up and set the throttle at anything above half it is pushing my hand up.
I think this is going to be quite fast.
Hmm, excited and maybe a little nervous.
Ok maybe a lot nervous.
I guess I don't have to use full throttle..... oh who am I trying to kid, off course I do.

It works, it's a bit of a handful at the moment though.
Only a short flight because I forgot to charge the Tx battery and didn't have a spare with me.

I use whatever I can get my hands on.
Here in New Zealand it's not so easy to get.
The stuff I get is not labelled.
I have to pay as much as $15 a sheet unless I want to buy a box.

Wolfman I use dollar tree foam board, I either cover it with packing tape or hot glue the edges it is the only way to keep it from peeling.

I am in the process of taping this one at the moment.
That is a bit of a skill in itself, I am getting better though.
I will post pics when I am done.
More videos to come in my flight log.
