So.. This will be my first dive into nitro... And after inspecting the box contents, I think I picked a good one.. Lots & lots of aluminum... Love that.. Ill be using the O.S. 55 HZ-R with a Hatori SAB-55 muffler... PushGlo igniter... I picked up an Align starter a couple weeks ago second hand...MKS servos all the way round.. HBL960 cyclic(still waiting on 2 of them as ExpienceRC only had 1 in stock), HBL990 tail, and a HV9780 mini tail for the throttle. iKon FBL w Cirus bluetooth module.. 2 DSMX sats.. 3600mah 2S Pulse to a heavy duty Futaba switch to power the electronics.. Rail 606 mains & 106 tail blades... Think I'm gonna do the plumbing & sheathing in green & accent the hardware blue... Gotta have that color. Gonna take my time on this build.. As stated I've never done nitro before so.. Plus I'm still waiting on ExpierienceRC to get more HBL960s in so I can start this.. May go ahead & get the sub assemblys done.. Anyhow ill try to take pics along the way and do a better documentation than I did on the Align 550.

Ok... The excitement has got the better of me.. Along with about half a pot of coffee.. Didn't realise it was 230AM... Here are a couple shots of the nights work. First off were the skids. Synergy does it different than Ive seen others.. No set screw.. The small threaded cylinders go inside the pipes, then the pipes inside the skid, then a screw thru the skid & pipe into the cylinder.. Takes a little work to line them up.

I knew there was gonna be some epoxy work on the CF pushrod ends.. So I decided to do that tonight so it could cure all night. The boom supports require the same.. But opt'd for KDE boom supports.. They are beefier than Align supports and I've been using them on both my 450 & 550... But these Synergy ones are pretty big in diameter... Already got the KDE.. I also did the TT so it could cure as well.. Did green 260 loctite on the TT bearings.. Always just used CA before.. Thought I'd try this.. I'll post finished shots after they cure tomorrow.. Here is the before.

Next I did the tail box & rotor. It's freak'n huge compared to the Align 550.. I did replace the plastic ringed pitch slider that came with this kit for the newer version that comes with the N7 & the E7SE. I also pulled the bearings outta the plastic crank and put them in the aluminum one I got from FBL Rotors.

Little trick I do on hubs and spindles.. Cut the tips of a Q-Tip off (use a tooth pick on 450's) and dip one end in alcohol and thread it into the ends and the the dry side.. Cleans up the oils in them.. Then do it again with a clean dry one and leave it in... Assemble & grease ur bearings and put them in the grip.. Then put it on the hub and take out the swab piece... This keeps the newly greased bearing from contaminating the threads.

I use green thread locker on my torque tube bearings and ends also. Works great, so great they won't come apart. Looks really nice and shiny.

Actually the pic doesn't do justice as I'm holding the new tail box further away from the lens...
