Too New Radio Or not Too new radio

Post by KevG »

Well I have been contemplating going Taranis for weeks now and just cant quite pull the trigger,

why I wanted to go down that route was for the diversity rx's most notably the d4r/x4r rx's for the mini quads, I feel the Spektrum rx's antenna just don't clear the airframe well enough,

well yesterday I was looking around another forum and came across a post for this

https://www.spektrumrc.com/Products/Def ... ID=SPM4648

and thought its out at the end of Jan ish, I will give that a go,

posted up on FB about Spektrum getting their act together slowly and got a reply to say well Lemon-Rx have one of those, ;) curious, a bit more digging and I found this.

http://www.lemon-rx.com/shop/index.php? ... uct_id=135

time for an order, found a UK supplier and only $3 more expensive than Lemon direct....Bonus.

and it got here this morning, yesterday at 14.35 ordered, 15.00 confirmed, 15.05 shipped,

dinner time in work consisted of making a paperclip bracket and zip ties and some electrical tape and low and behold its fitted, just need to cover it in heatshrink in da house later.

So long and short of it, Taranis will have to wait until I find out if this Lemon Sat is any good if it is then I cant se me changing as I like the feel and function of the Spektrum, in particular the DX8 that I have.

Only thing I can see is that you have the antennas a bit close to the video rx.
I like to put them as far apart as I can.

The Taranis is an awesome radio, I love mine.
Voice alerts and telemetry, for FPV it is all I will ever need.

I got the Taranis a couple of weeks ago as I told you on skype.
The big deal for me is the telemetry, and the Sbus rx is so much faster than standard RXs.
DSMX 11ms, X4R 5ms :)
And the voice alerts are great.
I have my Helis on my DX8, and my FPV models, on the Taranis.

I thought about that Stambo but a few do it now. The Impulse rc Alien has the mount for antennae as I have done and it eyes to work. Time will tell I suppose
