Frsky QX7 compatible receivers

I understand that the X9D transmitter works with an L9R receiver for long range flights. I'm wondering, will the QX7 also work with an L9R receiver for long distance flights?

The QX7 has an internal XJT module, just like the X9D. you are asking if it's compatible with the other FrSky transmitter options.

In terms of protocols, there are 4 variants of FrSky ACCST

there is:
V8 - Original protocol, used by the original V8 receivers. No FrSky radio supports these, but the DHT/DFT/DJT modules still do. Deprecated and unsupported by all new transmitters.
D8 - First generation Telemetry protocol. Supported by the D series receivers, and the V8-II receivers also use this without the telemetry. Supported by the DHT/DFT/DJT modules, The XJT module and the all the transmitters, but may be hidden if the EU build option is selected for openTX (which it is on stock FrSky OpenTX builds for EU sale)
D16 - Smart.Port telemetry protocol with 16ch support. Used by the X series receivers and S series stabilized receivers. Supported by XJT module and all the transmitters.
L12 - 12CH long-range protocol, no telemetry. Used only by the L9R receiver. Supported by XJT module and all the transmitters.
