Gonna get a Taranis X9D but I need help

I can't decide which receiver will be most beneficial to me....the X8R or the L9R. The X8R is expandable to 16 channels but has much less range than the L9R. The L9R is expandable to 12 channels and has much more range. I'll be using an Omnibus F4 fc with Inav and GPS. The Inav setup uses PWM 1 and 2 for the motors. PWM 3 for Left Aileron and PWM 4 for right aileron. Then there is PWM 5 for Rudder (and steerable nose wheel) and PWM 6 for elevator. That's the easy part.

Now I need a channel 7 for a cargo dropper, as well as a channel 8 for the second cargo dropper. channel 9 will be two air brakes on a Y channel. Then I need channel 10 and 11 for the pan and tilt for the FPV camera on the nose.

I just wonder, will the L9R (expanded to 12 channels via SBUS) handle all the PWM needs and then still allow me use of another switch for the flight modes and Loiter/RTH?

Just go X9d plus and get the TBS crossfire setup, much more reliable, check it out mate it seems to be the benchmark ATM.

I have a Taranis ordered. Should be here next week. Im just not sure that the crossfire will handle all the channels that i need. A lot of people are suggesting that i get the crossfire, because it can handle the range, but no one can tell me if it will handle 11-12 channels. The crossfire recievers that ive seen are all 8 channels.

I watched about a dozen videos on the crossfire and it really sounds like what im looking for. Since Graham pointed out that it will do 12 channels PPM, i got real excited. Many websites are out of stock but i found that bundle at Grayson Hobby. I called them and they said they had two sets in stock.....so, i ordered it. $300 is a lot but i think the end result is gonna be amazing!

Derek, if you are gonna use a flight controller it takes care of the control surfaces and motor via sbus, but I am not sure you can still use the other channels via pwm whilst using sbus.
My quads have an xsr4 (4 channel) but via sbus I can still have 16 channels to the FC.
I believe you can use other channels via pass through on the FC but that depends on how many free outputs you have left after hooking up everything else.

So, I bought the TBS Crossfire transmitter and the diversity rx because I'd like to have the extra range capabilities in my Gemini v2 build. It's going to take me quite a bit more time to finish up that build, so I decided to shop around for another TBS rx so that I can install it into one of my wings. Doing this will allow me to play around with the Crossfire tx and get familiar with it....that way I might know what I'm doing by the time the Gemini build is done. However, each and every Google search, for TBS Crossfire Micro receiver v2, showed "out of stock/backordered/unavailable." I did message a few US suppliers and they all said that they are expecting a TBS shipment in the 3rd week of next month.....that's a bummer. On top of that....there is a waiting list on most sites, so it's very likely that I'd not be able to get an rx from next months shipment. Bummer again!!!

However! about an hour ago, I figured I'd search for the Micro rx one more time. I began clicking on each Google search result, one by one, and I kept finding "out of stock/backordered/unavailable" for 4 whole pages, lol. About half way down the 5th page, lol, I came across a supplier in Vancouver, British Colombia, Canada....www.airbladeuav.com. Their website showed that they had the Micro V2 rx in stock. I saw that they have a Facebook page. I decided to send the guy a message and ask if they, indeed, had the Micro v2 rx in stock. I was shocked that he replied within about 20 minutes. He said that they had two Micro V2 Rx's in stock. Without even thinking, I told him to box them both up and ship them, lol. I quickly created an account with him and then paid for them. He sent me a message that said that he had received my payment and the two Rx's would be shipped tomorrow. Awesome!!!

There are few guys on Facebook, that I've been talking to, that are on waiting lists with TBS, GetFPV.com, and other sites. If all goes well, I should have the two new Micro V2 rx's within 2 weeks. Awesome!!!
