Unboxing and review: The new Spektrum DX7 (2015)

Recently, Horizon hobby released new versions of the DX6 and DX7. I was not even aware that new versions were on the way until I got a newsletter from Fastlad saying that they had the new DX7 in stock. I immediately put my old DX7S up for sale. After being listed for a week my old radio was on it's way to it's new owner, and I was finally able to "add to cart" at Fastlad!
So here it is guys and gals, the brand spanking new Spektrum DX7 air radio!!!
In this first part I will post pictures and some comments. I will elaborate a bit further in a second part, just need to use it a bit first! I literally received it a couple hours ago
Stickers. I never use these - but I appreciate that they're added.
Neckstrap.
Instructions, pretty beefy piece of reading material.
Charger with various adapters.
Bind plug and hex key for adjusting/removing stick knobs.
The radio. Now matte black instead of the traditional Spektrum silver.
Solid antenna versus the DX7S's bending antenna.
Outlets for trainer cord and earphones on the backside.
SD card slot on the underside. Memory card not included.
Carrying handle.
3 flight mode positions apposed to the DX7S's 2.
The screen is also backlit, a feature not found on the DX7S.
Flashy red sticks.
2000 mah LiIon batery pack.
Charge port is no longer located at the side.
In the next part I will talk a bit about the relationship between the old DX7S and the new DX6, and of course you will get a more in depth review of the DX7. I'll now use the new radio through this weekend and then finish this unboxing and review.
