I've had a play around with my TX settings to mix my Aux2 channel to get 3 positions. ive mixed 2 switches to give me the 3 positions needed for selecting different profiles in cleanflight..
PLEASE NOTE I HAVE NOT TESTED THIS.....
This is what I've done if anyone with a DX6i is interested...
These are the 2 switches I'm using, the flaps/gyro switch and the elev d/r switch.

The changes I made to the TX are in the flaps and MIX 1 settings
Flaps

And my MIX settings are.

Now looking at the Cleanflight receiver tab we see the changes on aux 2, this is with both switches off

Seen others use the mixing features to achieve things as such... Never messed with it personally... But if it works for u.. Roll with it!

As long as the mixing works in Cleanflight, I imagine it should work in flight. I've never messed with that much mixing either.

I've used the same mix with my msh brain so that I had all three flight modes avaliable. Like Derek said as long as cleanflight picks all three up all's good.

Set it up exactly as mine Graham, works a treat.. You may only need to tweak the % settings...

have you been into your receiver tab on CF and seen the AUX 2 input working... with both switches OFF mine is around 1516 on the dark blue AUX 2 port. with flaps on it jumps to 1836, and with Elev D/R switch on it jumps to 2078... these figures depend on what % you setup in the TX so you can change them if you wish..

is this the problem you had the last time with your flaps/gyro switch not working.. even without these mods you should see the AUX 2 port changing when you flick the switch...!!! is it wired in from the RX to naze board?

Pin 6 on the Naze port should go to the aux2 / gear channel on the rx
See page 5 of this pdf... I'm sure you've seen it, but it tells you which wires go to where from Naze breakout cable to RX
