here it is as most of you know i have in the process of building a scratch built hovercraft but this one is going to be way different then the videos you will find on youtube... The majority of the home built ones you will find on youtube have a huge oval hole in the center i wanted mine to be different then these... well here it is i had started this build while rch was still alive but now that it is dead i feel it means even more to me that i finish it here on our new home that i hope will be here for a long time to come for future lovers of everything RC i hope to be a very big contributing member and i am proud to be a part of our new forum so if anyone needs any help that i can help with just let me know and i will always do my best... That being said here is some pics of what i have gotten done so far on this project...

Its going to look like I copied your design Kyle.
I had the same idea for the riveted holes in the bottom, but not quite as many as you :)
I won't be making mine for a while yet though.
Look forward to seeing your finished model.

thanks lee well i think i may have over did it on the 3/8" brass grommets on the bottom i am going to remove most of the center ones except for the outer trim ones and a few scattered through the center the skirt itself is made from an old pillowcase i had that i was'nt using i removed all the stitching holding it together so i could spread it out layed some wax paper down on the floor taped down then layed the pillowcase out over it taped it down and then using a bondo spreader used a total of three tuber of black permatex silicone sealant to rubberize it once i remove the grommets i want to remove i will rubberize that otherside also that way the skirt should be completely waterproof... don't want to have to worry about it molding when i run it on the water... probably get a 2075 traxxas servo for the rudder since it is waterproof right now i have a digital carbonite gear hitec servo that is real strong... the main deck is three sheets of 1/2" thick celefoam board glued together and when i can figure out how to put it on here i will put the youtube video of the boyancy test i did and that will definitely impress you cuz i used a 10lb steel flat weight for it and it was still floating

I'm thinking that little pink car is part of the build Kyle....lol.... Will your hovercraft be able to fly over grass? I've noticed a few on websites cannot.

I'm thinking from what I have seen, that its a good idea to pin the middle of the skirt up to create an air pocket.
This will reduce the drag for going on water.
I really want to build one now :)

i put the channels on the bottome to help direct the airflow plus i will pretty much be sealing off the whole air chamber for maximum lift pressure where the passenger compartment on top will be will only have small vents but not big enough to kill the pressure to the skirt thinking maybe a real light ply for this possibly so it won't implode under pressure.. and the pink car is my daughters barbie bug car it is almost 3ft long and my ounger boys play with it
