FMA PL6 Info
Today I decided to run the Fuel Table setup on my 4 Pulse Ultra packs. The wizard is fairly easy to understand just fill out the screen and start the recording process. In the header of the wizard screen it tells you that it takes a long time to generate the Fuel Table. They are not kidding about this.
So far the screen on the charger is telling 113 minutes elapse time as of this post.
When I set this up I did not specify whether or not I was doing 1 pack or 4 packs. I got about 45 minutes into the cycle and decided to take a look and see what was going on and the replace mah was well over the capicty of 1 pack so it knew (i am guessing) that it had 4 packs hooked up. I may have to terminate the cycle early and restart at a later time, I hope not because I have cycling my packs just for the heck of it. At this time I am still charging on the first cycle and it needs to discharge and recharge the packs for a second cycle.
I do have to leave for work at 1700 and it looks like I have about another hour and 15 minutes before I have to leave. If the cycle gets to a complete storage charge prior to leaving I will stop the cycling and just have to redo the Fuel Table.

Re: FMA PL6 Info
I am now about an hour into the discharge cycle and I am at about 3.8 v per cell. I have to leave for work in about 15 or 20 minutes so I think I will be shutting down soon.
I have been going through the software that controls the PL6 from the PC. I am going to be cleaning up the presets on the charger itself. I have a bunch of entries I wont be using such as A123 Nicad and Metal nickle hydride. Once those are cleared out I will go through and start really getting nerdy and completely redoing my Lipo presets. I am planning on having three different groups for charging pack my goal (depending on what will fit) is to have a group for 1 pack, 2 packs and 4 packs. This will allow me to charge at my most common combinations. One thing about the FMA chargers is that presets are where its at. If your presets are spot on you will be charging rather quickly with a limited amount of button pushes. I am not sure how this compares to Junsi iCharger. I do know that 4010 Dual is the same way. Might I digress, since this is about the PL6/8 I will keep this knowledge base on topic.

Re: FMA PL6 Info
You need to tell the PL6 how many packs you are parallel charging
It will speed up the charging
To charge my 2 5100 6s packs it only take 45 minutes on a 2c charge rate

Re: FMA PL6 Info
for the fuel table setup the distructions claim that the slower the more accurate the results. So for the 4 packs at 1c is going to take forever but should be worth it once the readings are saved. This will open up the 1c 2c 3c auto charge rates. Got more playing around to do. I am going to start the process earlier and see how long it takes.

Re: FMA PL6 Info
It if you go through the menu with the buttons on it you will see its got a few set ups
on Mine I use the #1 set up the accurate charge . It charges all cells evenly instead of forcing one at a time
The way your first post sounds its forcing the charge into each cell and that is a bad thing and could blow the pack and that is not good

Re: FMA PL6 Info
No I have it set to balance the whole charge.
After 8 hours its still generating the fuel table. Its near the end of the second cycle. Its a 2 cycle process.

Heh. Nice. Stick a nylon strap on it to sling it on the shoulder and you're all set.

Re: FMA PL6 Info
I was thinking that too. Anything to keep the packs together instead of having then laying around the house. Trying to get some kind of organizing done. Maybe just screw it to the tool box like a fuel field box.
