Re: FPV virgin looking for tips to success

I spent a couple of hours yesterday getting the stabilised mode as near as perfect as i could and went through the whole cc3d setup again, so It's looking like today could be the day for my FPV maiden.
There's a slight breeze 3-5 mph, blueish sky, it's a bit on the chilli side but I will be putting my goggles in my pocket for a hour before I set off to the field.

I'm quite nervous about this maiden so has anyone got any last minute tips be for I set off?

Keep moving forward, not too fast but enough so you don't drift sideways too much.
For the first few flights altitude is your friend.
Do you have a spotter?

Just go out there and do it. :)
Good luck.

No I haven't got a spotter today but I know the field and area very well. The field has a tree line all the way around and I'm not planing on going above the tree line.

Thanks for the support, postie should be here in the next half hour, hopefully with my cp antenna if not ill use the dipole that came with the kit.

Missed out on all this, brilliant thread and some excellent tips from you guys, done a couple of fpv flights myself with Lee and all these tips he told me to do.. I'll be watching out for your first fpv vid Dan. I did lose mine once when the battery came off, if Lee hadn't of seen where it crash landed I may not have found it...lol... You've got a good setup there Dan. Looking forward to seeing progress mate

The problem with me doing the leveling video is that we aren't using the same flight controller mate, Maybe Stambo can help you out?
