Practice hover

Hey there. I've finally got my 450 scale heli going the other day. I haven't had the chance to try her out because the winds have been cranking the last few days and the days to come

I just needed the wind to calm down a bit to try a test hover. This evening I got the chance I was looking for. I needed to find out if the heli was nose or tail heavy. If it was leaning to the right or left and so on. I was pleased for the first flight. I needed to get used to the extra weight. I needed to see how my settings works with this fuselage also. It all went well. Need a little fine tone adjusting, I think. I'll find out more when the winds calm down and I can do a really test flight. Anyway here is my hover. All went well til the end. I got lucky... you'll see

Thanks Graham Lawrie. The wind died down this evening enough to sneak a flight in. I think my headspeed is high. I'm going to drop the motor tooth from 13 down 1 or 2 tooth.

Sweet looking machine! Yeah.. scale models don't require a lot HS.. I'd lower it.. may be able to in the radio and not have to chance out the pinion...

Thanks Graham Laewrie and Clay! I took your advice Clay and drop the head speed down in the TX and adjusted the blade pitch to 12.6 degrees. I had a friend help me with my chores before I can fly
https://youtu.be/moGUlGcK5Uo. I'm flying low and short distance just to see how the settings are

Very nice.. sounds better for scale to me.. although I really know very little about scale set ups. I would love to build a scale kit. When I said use the tx to lower HS.. can u control ur gov function via ur tx? Not sure if ur set up.. I know u can w Futaba, but in hearing ur radio I assume u r in a Spektrum... are u using gov!or a "v" curve?... anyhow.. great job bud!

Thanks cml001. Your right, I do have a Spektrum DX6. I'm using a Gov on the ESC that I got from your friend

. I'm also using a straight curve 75@1 and 80@2. I'm thinking about putting a FPV camera on it too just to be silly and that way when I fly, other and tag along

I threw a short video of the ferret for cml001. This ferret turnning out to be pretty cool pet.
