Those guys with Goblins, get frustrated when a little plastic tab breaks off the landing gear,
rendering it useless.
Well heres a quick fix i made on one of mine a while ago.
There are some holes, just in the right place for a small self tapping screw.
This can take the place of the broken tab.

They are very nice Clay.
But you need the 500 skids too, to fit those.
So $25 for those and however much the skids are, or a 5cent screw LOL :D
Maybe if I was breaking them every day, i'd change my mind.

Nice hack! I'll remember this next time it happens, though I usually snap them clean in half or break off a whole leg. :)

Those taps are sacrificial parts anyways. Those are supposed to break before the skids break.

On the 500 at least I've found that the skids break before the struts do. Or right along with them. I think I've had a hard landing or crash once where the struts broke before the skids.

I'm not a big fan of Goblin skids, period. They may look cool, but functionally and stress resistance wise, they suck. I've compromised and switched to using lynx G10 skid plates with the standard goblin struts and that seems to be working. Still breaking the skids, but they cost less and the struts tend to survive since the G10 gives up sooner. I haven't tried cutting some reinforcing plates from some scrap CF. That may make a difference.

I'm very happy that they have the traditional skid pipe style available for the 700's.

I like the traditional skides & pipes look better than the Goblin style CF... Or any other CF skid for that matter.. I don't like the look of nor can wrap my head around functionality of a CF skid.. I do like that Goblin gave a different option to the KSE & 380.
