Front Drive TT Gear Tooth Count

I was just looking at HeliDirect's website and I noticed that there are two Front Drive TT Gears for my 600. One is a 34 tooth count and the other was a 40 tooth count. My 600 runs the 34 tooth count. Fair enough!

It just got me thinking, if I were to use the 40 tooth count, that would actually slow the tail rotor down, right?

Yep. Its for running higher head speeds but keeping the tail speed down.

You also have to mod the frame so that you can get proper mesh between the auto gear and torque tube drive gear, i did the mod to my 550 when i built it as i wasn't happy with the gear mesh it just felt too slack, as well as setting the mesh in all the umbrella gears with shims.
