possible new heli for me

I am not buying a new heli, rather I am trading for a used one. I put this on RCH but for those of you not on there I wanted to share the news with you guys.

About 2 days ago I was propositioned for a trade. Its not for the Gaui but it is for my destroyed Protos Mini. I really don't want to lose it because it really is a great little heli. What I have been offered is an Align Dominator L 450. I have not owned any true Align helix but with the deal I can't turn it down because the air frame is practically new and needs electronics to fly. Its going to cost me less to finish it vs rebuilding and electrics for the Mini.

The person wanting it just joined the r&d team for msh and can get good deals on the parts. He wants to stretch it to 350 so with my kit its going to be cheaper for him to rebuild mine.

So thats the latest for me.

I am not familiar with the protos but I do have the dominator. Bare bones dominator is worth < $200 on the used market. I think I paid $250 with electronics and spare parts for mine.

The Align is expensive to crash. I like mine but I have more parts for it then my hobby store does. A typical crash will cost you anywhere between $40-$100. The stock electronics are junk so you scored there. I'd recommend the KDS-215mg servos and an edge lite esc and then whatever 6S motor suites your needs.

A Protos mini new airframe only is about $224. Crashes are not cheap on the mini either. Both side frames and the lower tram with battery tray will set you back about $60 USD.

As for electrics as the funds become available i will do the exact same servos I have now, kst 215s and probably do another castle ESC and bec. Not sure if I would do 6s right away but is an option. I would need another RX and fbl. It will be nuve knowing I will have an almost rtf sitting around. Maybe I could use it to haggle for a used RX that's better than my th9x.

The Protos are very good and crash well:)

Cameron has a 450-500 size one and it has been well used and abused. Great heli and well made:)
