Thinking about a new Wing

Most of the time, when I'm considering another plane...I get thinking about scratch building one, but I have to admit that I am sorely considering buying this 800mm wing.

It would fit nicely in the backseat of the truck and it just kills me that it's running off a mini quad motor.

That with an omnibus f4 and a 4s battery could be fun.

Yeah man...its a very good price! Its funny that you posted thqt video. I just watched that same video ywo days ago.
I may have to put some thought into a good 4S motor....any suggestions?
And seriously....at that price, i may just order two....just in case i have that inevitable and unfortunate meeting with Mother Earth.

I've done it. Decided to get the S800 FPV wing. Banggood has a complete package with motor, servos, esc, 200mw vtx, fpv camera, flight stabilizer, wing, and all carbon spars. That complete package was listed for $86. However, I did not order the complete package from Banggood because I've done some research on the complete package. Several people have had the motor desync during bench testing. The servos are plastic geared. There were some other things that I wasn't real fond of with the complete package.
So, I went to Hobbyking....ordered the wing, two digital metal gear servos, 30amp Little Bee esc, and a Hobbywing motor that is capable of 3S and 4S. The FPV camera and video tx are already in my parts bin. 5" and 6" props are in my parts bin. I have my own receiver (and flight stabilizer, if I decide to add it).
Now....the wait begins, lol.

I've just look through the box and everything is present and accounted for. Nothing missing. Nothing damaged. Awesome! I've never had an EPP plane before. This stuff is TOUGH!!!
I also ordered a Turnigy HD 1080p action cam (GoPro clone) and it's here, too. So, although it's nearly winter here (crap weather with wind and rain), we'll get this thing built and we'll get the maiden done, provided that it's not raining, lol

Here is my Reptile Sky Shadow S800 FPV wing. I set it on top of my FPV49v4 (49 inch wingspan) for size reference. Although Banggood offered this wing in a RTF version with motor, esc, servos, flight stabilizer, vtx, fpv camera, and some other bits for $86, I opted to buy the kit version from HK for $35. I watched several video reviews and read some other reviews and I wasn't impressed. A lot of people were saying that the RTF esc would desync or just not work at all. A lot of people were saying the vtx wouldn't work or would only work for real short distances. So, the kit version seemed like the better way to go because I could choose my own components....such as:
Hobbywing 2205-2300kv motor
Turnigy Plush 40amp esc (I love the Plush esc's...they just work)
I forget what the servos are, but they are digital metal gear servos
Spektrum AR6100E rx
Lumenier TX5G6R Mini 600mW 5.8GHz FPV Transmitter with Raceband
These vtx's are known for getting warm, so I bought an aluminum heat sink and this sticks out through the top airfoil so that it's in direct airflow
700tvl fpv camera from Readymaderc.com (supplied by DOG, ty sir!)
Currently, I have a DAL 6045BN prop on the motor
There is just enough room (slightly snug) for my Turnigy HD 1080p actioncam. I did add a narrow Velcro strap to secure the camera into the nose.
I'll do the maiden flight and some testing flights on 3S 1550mah packs, then we'll get into some 4S packs.
The S800 is very light weight but this EPP foam is the most dense foam I've ever had my hands on. There are a few carbon fiber spars that make the airframe seriously rigid. I haven't added a flight stabilizer yet. Not sure if I will.
Anyway....I wanted to share the pic with you guys. Hopefully I can get the maiden done soon.

I'm loving those birds. I hope you get some nice weather soon so you are able to get your maiden in. Your more then welcome to come over her and fly. It's still in the low 80's and probably will be til after the New Year
