FPV with some friends today

Post by Derek »

Today, a few of us arranged a meeting at a local park and we were pleased to see that several others had shown up to fly. Even Dad showed up with his Delta Ray for 5 flights and 5 landings, lol (Well done, Dad!). I made up 8 racing flags and set them up. A new guy, Ken, drove about 40 minutes to fly with us and he brought some PVC racing gates. I think they were about 5' x 5'. Another new guy drove about an hour to fly with us. We were out today for about 5 hours total and it was awesome fun!

It was funny to see some of the guys racing around the gates and flags and then to look up and see Dad flying above the FPV action with his Delta Ray. One of the guys, Tim, brought out a racing wing with FPV. It was a screaming machine!!! It had such a noise come from it that you could hear the echo off the trees that were 150 yards away, lol. Then, to top things off, we even had a father and son walk up on us and watch. We even passed the goggles to them so they could sit in on the action. They were amazed.

What a cool day!!!

Agreed, that's why I have not done much for a while.
The friend I normally fly with has a big project on that is taking up most of his spare time.
I do have Jacob flying the Hobbyzone Champ though, sorry, no video at present. :)
