New Quad On The Way

Post by cml001 »

Hi guys.. Got another RCX on the way since I can't find mine. This time I'm goin with the nase32 for more functionality(wish open pilot would get there new board out.. Oh well). So I'm also trying to go ahead and get some fPV gear to install from the get go. I have a immersion 5.8 600mw Tx on the way as well. I need an osd w GPS & compass... I am looking at the "tiny osd".. No return home function tho.. Not really neccessary I suppose. But it also lacks the artificial horizon.. Making me lean more toward a minim osd.. If I do that.. What GPS should I get & from where? Another question I have is RSSI.. Can I get that from the naze32 as I'm to understand I can't get it from my Spektrum reciever. Help!

The gps u need for minim osd is a neo 6m I've been battling with mine for the last 3 weeks and just got it sorted out (not a lot of info on it if it's a v3.1gps), Minim osd with gps has return to home and an artificial horizon to get the return to home feature you need an full naze or flip32+.

Hope this helps you clay. If you decide to go down the minim osd and neo 6 route I would be more than help you sort it out.

This is the GPS w compass & OSD I got... Will these work with the naze 32 full & a Spektrum 6 channel Rx? Got a link suggestion for a good FPV camera? I think I'm gonna need a FTDI connector for programing as well.. The regulator that comes with my kit should do the trick I think... This will be a 4s build... What else am I gonna need?

If you want both osd and gps you need a ppm/sbus reciever as the osd plugs into the tx and rx on the board and the gps plugs into rc channels 3 and 4 which act as tx and rx for the gps.
The extra tx and rx from the naze are only active with ppm or sbus (which then also needs an inverter cable to work)

I'm not sure for spektrum, Lee and Tony have used a ppm orange reciever but I don't know the model number. It may also work with a sat but again I'm not 100% I've not used spektrum gear for around a year now apart from on the sim. Lol

Alriiiighty! I got this shipment from China in 8 days this time... SCORE!.. I ordered the RCX 250PRO this time.. Full kit & and additional frame... Got an idea on something.. I won't be using the ESCs that came with the kit nor the CC3D... And all the other pieces for this build are forthcoming.. But I did toss the frame together in anticipation..

Yes... I am toying with putting the extra bottom piece on top or on bottom.. Pictured its on top. Gives more space and helps seperate stuff.. In hopes of keeping interference at a minimum. If I put it on bottom I'll sandwich the ESCs & maybe something else.. Waitng on stuff to arrive to get a clearer picture in my mind... But iv got a video Tx, mini minum osd, camera.. All the other stuff is coming.. Be a while yet.. Suggestions welcome!
