Taking the plunge

Post by pvolcko »

Bought a Vortex off a facebook buy/sell group. Made helidirect, amazon, and buddyrc orders for batteries, goggles, rx board, antennas, and some other odds and ends. Hopefully the end of next week I'll be practicing some FPV.

Sneaky, Graham. ;-)

I don't see ever giving up the helis. I'll be reducing the number of models, but helis are way too fun and cool to give up.

Stuff is shipping. Should start arriving early next week.

I'm with you, Clay! Thankfully, my wife has allowed me to fly planes, helicopters, and now FPV quads. She might draw the line if I decide to get into turbines though, lol.

Two friends have bought the Vortex Pro. Still waiting to get my hands on one to try it out.
My helis have sat in the spare room since we moved house :(
Mind you, so have my quads.
Been working overtime for three weeks now. Great to be saving some extra cash, but no time for anything but eat and sleep :(

I didn't realize these goggles were 16x9 aspect viewers so I ordered up a 16x9 camera for the vortex. Also waiting on the Rx module for the goggles still. I actually ordered one from a high cost place since they were out of stock in the other places I was looking. Then they came in stock today at Helidirect so I ordered another from there and will send the high cost one back.

Also waiting on the spektrum satellite rx cable to show up still. May throw spare full rx on there to play with for the time being. :)
