RC-Hangout

Ok guys.. Today I will start my FPV adventure... Alone. I thought I'd start a thread/blog that I could expand on that's not consistently specific.. But rather ongoing as things progress for me in FPV.. There is a lot I just don't know.. And as I'm a primarily a heli guy.. I wanna chop as much as I can off the experiment end of things.. But I still wanna know what the hell in doing.. Lol..
I'll start with my current set up. QAV210 frame, Naze32 rev6, Zeus 20amp ESCs, RCX 2205 2350kv motors, Dal 5045 3 bladed props, HS1177 cam, Luminier 600mw push button VTX, Immersion polarized antenna, & a Futaba 6203 SBus RX. I'm not sure what PDB is on it.. But I do have a BEC w a seperate filter for the video setup. There are a few 3D printed items as well.. A guard on the front & a tray for the VTX.
Firmware... The Naze32 is using Cleanflight. I will be exploring it today and ensuring my setup is the way I want it functionally with my radio.. And play with gains later at the field. The ESCs are flashed with the BL.. I don't know what exactly version tho. An FTDI adapter is on my list tho!

Now that u guys know what's up... The first change to make is gonna be the VTX. The 600mw I have is a good one.. But it's 600mw.. The main reason I picked up the quad was to race with some buddies.. So.. The 600mw will knock their video signals out when in close proximity to each other. I think I want the Luminier 200mw version of he on I have. I could use the 600mw on days by myself.. & 200mw when with the guys. Seems right to me.. Any input?

Clay...if you can, test out your 600mw vtx around some of your buddies. It may not knock their video signals. The reason I say this is because when I had gone to that Multirotor FPV event, at my local club field, one of the guys there, and myself, had ImmersionRC 600mw vtx's...everyone else had 200mw and we all flew all day without troubles. Now, they did encourage me to get a 200mw for future events because there is going to be a 200mw cap...but they let me fly and we had no troubles at all.

The biggest thing about running 600mw is to tell them when you are powering up and not fly or power up too close to the other pilots or their ground stations.
I have found powering up the VTX can be the source of some video glitches briefly.
Flying near the other quads is generally not an issue.

Went w the TBS antennas.. I like it so far.. Tomorrow will be the full day of testing.. The 200mw VTX will have to wait till next payday tho..
