New lights

i just finished replacing the lights on the back of my mini.
I got a 5m strip of 5630 LEDs from Banggood, and I am very pleased with the result.
I think 5m might have been a little overkill but I want to re LED my night quad at some stage.
Should hopefully make it a bit more visible to the guys I fly with, even in daylight.
The red ones are the pathetic excuse for lights that I removed.
There is actually 3 green LEDs on each arm but the camera had trouble separating them

I can't remember who but I think someone here came up with this idea of using the spine thing from a cheap binder to mount on the arms. I stuck pieces of this on the arms and used the stick on LED strips.

Really looks good, Stambo! Very bright! I ordered Blue and White LED's, I can't remember where from, for my quad. I have the White LED's on the front two arms and Blue LED's on the rear arms. They are awesomely bright. I've never installed LED's on a model before so I really didn't know how it would turn out. However, I was able to get good solder joints and I didn't burn anything up, lol. I'll see about posting a video, later today, that shows my finished quad with FPV and LED's.
I also ordered some more Blue, Red, and Green LED's for a night flying plane project, from HK, along with my Lost Model Buzzer...I actually ordered 3 buzzers......just in case.

Did you stick the ESC's on top of binder, a picture would be good Stambo

If it was me Tony, i would slide the thin end over the arm and use the large flat side to stick it on:) I expect that is what they are doing:)

Yep that's what I'm thinking too, it will mean sticking the ESC's on top I recon. I've got some rgb led strips I want to put on but they look AWEFUL just on the arm. Also just got my accelerometer chip.. But that's a new post...

Here you go Graham.
I put a little hot glue inside the channel just for a bit a bit of extra security.
