Cleaning?

Hey guys... Got off work this evening & flew the RCX 250 at dusk.. Judging depth is hard enough during the day.. Anyhow.. Caught a branch resulting in a mild crash.. No damage or anything (I don't think).. But one(or more) of the motors sounds different.. Performs fine.. I'm thinking trash in the motor... How does one clean these things?

I use brake cleaner and compressed air.
Then a few drops of your favorite bearing oil in the bearings.
I usually take the motor bells off to do this.

I'm the same as Stambo, a generous amount of brake cleaner and then oil the bearings.

Well I'm with lee just compressed air only then I spray white lithium grease afterward, spin the main blades by hand for about 30 seconds then applied compressed air again to blow away the spray over. That's just my way of doing it.

But u guys can tell when there is a need for cleaning... Via sound or feel of manually turning the motors?

Hey cml001. The way i determine is by the auto rotation when i spin my blades by hand. You can kinda of hear the dirt scrapping on the bearing, shaft or just doesn't spin & sound right. If that makes sense, i hope. I fly at home so after a full day of flying I know I'm going to clean and juice them up after playing.
