Gaui X3 Repairs

Post by murankar »

I have been posting updates over at RCH. Know a bunch of you dont go there so here is the skinny on whats up.

First:
I ordered a new new rc looger pitch gauge, this time I got the whole set. In the set I have tools for setting the tail blade pitch, swash leveler and a plum rod. So now I have 2 rc logger 2's one Lite and one full set. It came in and now I have to work on the set up and over view video of it.

Second:
I ordered a full set of BK Servos. I got 3 of the 3001HVs and 1 5005HV tail servo. This set was discounted due to it being a set. I saved about $30 over full retail. I also ordered with them is another set of Zeal 360mm blades and a set of zeal tail blades.

What I have to order soon is skids, batteries, and more bits and bobs like dampers, gears and shafts. I also want to look at after market bearings for this guy. I am also going to look into the parts list and see what else I may think I may need. Like lower frame plates, they strip out on crashes. Its a sacrificial part to save the skids.

At this point I have the VBar Neo reset, servos 90ed with horns installed. At this point I want to video the rest so to capture the use of the Vcontrol.

I am so excited about these new servos. I just cant wait to see what 8v looks like in the air. The tail servo can handle 8.4v but the cyclics can handle only 8v. The specs on these things are just crazy.

Back in october, I think, I had an incident that was well learned. On the Vcontrol you have a radio lock switch and a motor stop/motor idel/ motor run switch. Well do to poor switch assignments on my part the radio lock switch got flipped which cause the heli to auto in. Because I did not react fast enough I could not do a bail so to speak. In the end I had broken my skids and servo output shaft, not sure if anything else broke at this point.

If I would have had my phone setup right on my head you would have seen it on video.

Its official the repairs are done and maiden completed. So once the RunCam HD2 gets here I will be getting the videos done. It should be here by the weeks end.

I still have some stuff to work out, like the governor on the NEO. I have the castle setup the way it needs to be now I need to double check the governor setup in the neo.

So I just did the generic esc setup in the radio. I now have the governor set by throttle percentage v.s. set head speed. there are some trade offs with this setup. One is I cant adjust the gain, this truely is minor since I am not pushing the heli, and two I don't know what my actual head speed is because I am basing it off of a percentage. Again not really a big deal but i want the most flexibility and I don't feel I have it with this setup jest yet. Setup being how the esc and Neo are setup for governor.

P.S.

I THINK NEW PACKS MIGHT BE IN ORDER FOR THIS YEAR!!!!!!!!!!

Same here. If anyone knows of any links to any accessories for the runcam let me know. Now I don't want to have to wait three weeks for the parts. The company website has a three week delivery time to the US. Without that there is no hat can.
