Chase Makeover In Progress

Post by cml001 »

So I've had the KDS Chase 360 for a few months now.. Finally put her in last week.. Pretty hard too. Parts for this thing are dirt cheap.. But I did goof.. Kinda.. I saw a Fusuno canopy that I liked.. But it was $10 more than the stock.. And I got the stock.. Kinda regret it now.. But.. She's back on the bench getting fixed.. I did opt for a yellow tail fin tho and put some stickers on her.. I am taking this opportunity to go ahead and make her the first in the fleets retrofit of radio gear. So the AR7200BX is out and an iKon is going on. Adding a Castle Link to her as well.. She was the only bird in the fleet without one till now. So I've got a R6202SBW receiver utilizing SBus to the iKon.. I am only doin the preliminary setup as the 14SG radio I have on loan will be replaced this week with my own Futaba radio.. Which I am REALLY REALLY excited about... 18MZH.. But I wanted to get ahead of the curve and get the Chase moving along...

Got the Bluetooth & RX installed... Not gonna secure the ikon & leads going into it until I get the a chance top fire up the laptop .. U know I love this little bird.. Otherwise I would not be messing with it.. I totally hate Wrench'n on a 450 class heli & try'n to wire it... Soooo tight. I actually shortened a servo lead... 1st time I ever did that!

Well... Iv have sold all my iKons. So.. All the Synergy models have CGY750s on them... The 550PRO DFC has a Silverline VBar(haven't flown or programmed it yet). The 450PRO DFC is without and I decided to try the Blueline Mini VBar again on the Chase... Holy shit! It's awesome! Back in action! Hehehehe.. I'm gitty! SCORE!

SO hows the quality control on that kit? When the first came out the QC was abysmal. Looks like a nice bird though. Whens your maiden on it?

Oh it's awesome! The design is great! Quality is great... Must not have been keep'm up with me... I've had this bird a good long time.. Tried VBar but it wouldn't work w my Spektrum gear.. So I put an AR7200 on it.. I do like the AR7200 on a 450. Then when I went w Futaba TX & RX I put iKon on it... Couldn't get iKon to fly on it the way I wanted so I went back to the Blueline Mini VBar.. Now yesterday was the maiden of mini VBar on it.. But I've been fly'n this thing for months and love it! Gotta tell ya.. It holds up in a crash better than any 450 class I've ever seen.. I spend less in parts on this thing than any other heli I've owned. It's great!

Actually I have its just with everything going on lately i have forgotten where everyone is. I found that with the X3 its the same way with crashing. Its built like a tank and part a relatively cheap.
