Next week after I order the last bit of stuff for the Garbon I will order the motor and ESC for this guy. Man I really hate this crap, it is what it is.

If I may make a few suggestions... In the Castle software.. Change ur cutoff to rpm reduction.. With it set to soft cut.. It's still a cut. Rpm redutcion u will know when it engages and have time to land. This is especially useful on small birds that don't really auto. Ur auto Lipo voltage is set to 3.4... If u load up the bird it's possible to hit that figure briefly enough to engage the cutoff.. I personally set mine to 3.1... Also.. Is there a reason u have ur BEC set to 5v? Just observations to personal preference. Get the gov figured out?

because I am not using it, lol. I have a 10 amp external I am using on it. That one is set to 8v. I think I did end up dropping the low voltage to 3.2 or something like that. Plus I dont think with what I am doing it will make that much of a difference. Now if I happen to dig into collective a lot then maybe but until I get the gov thing sorted I am no to much worried about it. Finally that cut off style is what I have been using since I started flying. So for me to make that change would take some getting used to, but I will give it a shot.

I decided to pay around with the Vcontrol today. I made a default Heli srceen with all the telemetry stuff right there on the main screen.

So what you see is all the stuff one could add to the main screen. What you dont see is the widget right below the model name (in the balck space in between the model name and timers. All that is symbols for GPS and some other stuff which I do not have activated as of yet. I am thinking of adding the Mikado UI sensor for the voltage and amp draws for telemetry. I would only have it for the Goblin because of the size and weight.

I will be adding a bunch of info to the Gobby Journal section.

Man this has been an on again off again relationship with this helicopter. I received the new motor and esc and installed them. Got to packs in and lets just say things are getting hot. Not warm but hot, I don't think I hit thermal yet but it is close. I checked the back lash on the main gear and motor pinion and that looks fine, my timing is set to 5 degrees and for what ever reason Hobbywing decided that running 18 kHz is going to be your only option. If anyone knows how to change the PWM on the Platinum Pro V4 series let me know.

Were you screwing with Gov gain settings, or were those gain screens for tail gain? Gov gain being too high can definitely cause things to run hotter than normal.

The gov is based on throttle output and gains dont work for it, well they are lined out. I was messing with the head and tail gains. I did however mess with the throttle output a couple times. I flew today but it was the gobby. I did get the X3 out also and have another video of it but need to edit it for the important info. I cant seem to figure out why the motor and esc are getting so hot. I did check the bearings in the motor and those are fine since the motor is new. I have not had a thermal shutdown as of yet. I have no way to temp the motor. The EC3 connectors are not getting hot so I know thats not the issue.

I actually did a dumb thing today and attempted a loop. I lost the X3 in the sun and managed to save it by the time i could see it again. Even if I got video you would not of been able to see it. the sun would have killed the video.
