Issues with castle edge and vbar neo

Here is the deal, when I plug in the pack I get the three beeps for the cell count. The red led flashes once in a continuous series with no tone. The neo has a continuous single blue flash and won't link to the radio or vstabi. However the neo will run through the update.

Next the esc connects to the castle link software. I factory rest the esc, unplugged everything but the bec and esc. Still a no go.

Took the etc plate off the X3 and started investigating. Sometimes the esc will sound odd unless I wiggle wires. Conclusion at this point is that I have a fractured or broke wire on my scorpion motor. The yellow wire appears to have a joint in it.

The fix is to strip the wire and see if that intact is the case. If so time to solder a new connector. Next I have to consider new wire routing. I filled Gaui's plan in the manual which does not work for me. I will follow up tonight with a video or pictures.

If one motor wire is broken then the motor would move back and forth when power is applied, it will not make full rotations.

I've had it happen a couple of times on quads when I've crashed and the motor wire has become disconnected

No it does not move at all by power. It moves by hand but that's it. The motor is not even initializing. I still need to factory rest the neo. I could how ever try my kbar and see if that works but I doubt it will. I really think the wire is the issue.

I also have had just my neo powered up and it still just blinks. I hope the neo is not toast.

I have notice that after a period of time plugging in and disconnecting the battery, the wire has the tendency to break loose from the soldered connectors. If you tape them up like I do, It's really hard to notice if the wire is still connected until I pull the tape off and then I will notice if the wire is loose or not. Just a thought.

I have rc3 connectors. It's very easy to tell if the solder joint is broke. This joint I am talking about is in the motor lead itself. It's halfway between the bullet and motor.

Sounds like a possibility but the hell has flown prior to thus. Nothing changed from my last hard landing. I will look at that. The problem is the radio and neo won't connect to each other. Until that happens I can't adjust anything.

Georges van gansen thinks it could be a cold solder joint. Which would be similar to a fractured wire. So I think I am getting closer.

Yes that is what happens the trim is one or two clicks to high in the TX . Dont see a cold solder joint being it if it is powering up

No trim on the radio. It's a vcontrol.

Ok yes that would make the motor beep sound funny. but would not keep it from pairing to the tx

I think the neo is the issue. After the video I disconnected the motor and left just the bec. The gyro did not pair to the radio. I am going to try and see if doing an update will fix the problem. The only other issue is the vstabi software is not seeing the neo.

Maybe the BEC crapped out and is not sending enough to fully power the neo
can you put the red wire back in the esc plug and see what that dose

I got a response on the vstabi forum. Looks like I may have activated the servo extender app. I will check when I get home.

HOLY SH...T BATMAN IT WORKS AGAIN.

Okay so I must have checked Vbar Neo Extender while I was in the apps. Unless you plan on running more than one Neo on a single airframe then you would need to use the extender and define the master. I had not defined the master but all I had to do is reload the basic firmware and bam it links to the radio. Thanks to the VSTABI form.

Well first I need to order the servos. That will happen maybe thursday or friday of next week. Then it only time from then on. Weather here is very spotty. One day its 60F the next day its 30F with snow. Right now we are near the 50s and sunny. I just need this thing in the air by April. April is the day I maybe going to that Army class and I want to take it with me.
