Stretching 700 to 800

Post by Derek »

To stretch a 700 to an 800, would anything more be needed besides a tail boom, torque tube, and tail control rod?

I just looked at the Align Trex Store and it looks like the 800 tail boom is slightly larger in diameter than the 700, so that would require and all new tail rotor assembly and tail boom case.

There may be a stretch kit out there for it. Of course, the point of stretching it is to use the longer blades and get the changed flight dynamics so you'll need some new main blades too. :)

I cant remember which Align had a direct stretch. I want to say it was the trekker. All you had to do was upgrade from the boom back and mains. You will also need to consider the power system. While 12S will work, it will be taxed; 14S would be ideal for an 800.
