Had my 550 for a year now... Some wear/slop in the links, swash bearing, & dampers... I'm sure the thrust bearings are dry by now as well... So.. Got all replacement bearings for the spindle along with new dampers... New links all way round.. Decided to all some color while I was doing this. The DFC links are the same just with a red collar instead of the silver.. Red blade grip arms just for the red color.. Red metal horns and the servo links I've traded out for the new style that come on the Dominator version... Turnbuckles in place of the stock links.. These links fall under the 700 class... A little more beefy. Since the swash bearing had slop I just decided to replace it.. Again with the newer version.. Plus this keeps my red theme going. Prep'd it all up.. I'll do the install tonight after the skate demo... Crap I'm late!

Well.. Came to a halt in the middle of this... The balls on the horns are 4.75mm.... The links are for 5mm balls. I have some, but the threads are 3mm... Servo horn threads are 2mm. May just leave this on the bench & order the right balls.. Lol.. I said balls!

Man... The anti rotation pin on the swash for the 5mm ball has a larger pin... Won't fit the guide.... May just use the old links.

Here she is all done... I like the red... I can put the new stly links on the aileron servos once I get new balls.. But the ele servo link will stay the same due to the bracket slot being too small. The thrust bearings were fine... Even had plenty of lube on them still.. I was kinda shocked really.. Figured they would be dry. I cleaned & re lubed them.. The radial bearings I just went ahead and put the new ones in. Got here programmed back up. Now it's bath time! She's kinda nasty.. Dead bug splatter all over her... Stud grass and dirt... I've neglected this duties for a bit.. Usually clean her after every session... Anyhow.. Maintaince & makeover complete.

Awesome job Clay, The red looks great! The red shrink on the sat is a nice touch. I'm doing the same to my 700. I ordered the Lynx red anodized washers, just waiting on a set of matte finish frame plates and boom to swap out.
