Full Naze32 not working

i received my new Full Naze32 board today, after watching many videos on setting this thing up with cleanflight i eagerly got started.

installed latest cleanflight via google apps, installed the silicon labs cp210 driver, went onto comm5.

ran cleanflight, plugged board in (cleanfight says its on comm5...good) clicked onto firmware flasher, downloaded the 1.6 version of NAze firmware.
then clicked flash firmware, CF says no response from bootloader. tried several times to no avail... closed and reopened CF, still nothing working

unplugged board.

tried ticking the "no boot sequence" and the "flash on connect " boxes... shorted the BOOT pads on the board whilst plugging the board in, and STILL no response from bootloader..

so do i have a duff naze board? currently i have the blue led on, if i tilt the board the red led flashes until its level again... is this normal?

i have had some help from Lee via skype, so thanks Lee.

i really think its now time to say fairwell to RC, nothing is going right.. ive contacted the suppliers and await a response.

Ok it's working now, but not on my 64bit toshiba laptop, I've had to use an older 32 bit machine with the x86 driver....

That's strange it works fine on both my 64bit systems.
glad you got it sorted, the naze seems to be easier to tune than the cc3d, a bit more forgiving if you go ott with the gains.

Glad to hear that you got it sorted, Tony! I'll be running the Acro Naze32 and I'm very much looking forward to learning this new avenue.

Tony:) perseverance is necessary to establish perfection:) If we gave up at the first hurdle we would achieve nothing.

We(you included) were attracted to RC for a reason. You have more than enough experience on here to get you in the air.

So stop all this give up nonsense:) Look at it as you have stolen my crown, and are the "eddie the eagle " of rc:) We wont all be Alan Szabo. But we have camaraderie and friendship which make up for every crash and ....... mistake we make:)

Thanks guys, although I've set it up on clean flight it doesn't fly, obviously done something wrong, it got light on its feet and just summersaulted about 3 times before I could disarm it..

Anyway, my patience has come to an end, it's all boxed up and chucked in the garage. I obviously don't have the means to get this bloody thing working. I'm exhausted with it... I might get it back out in the summer and try again.. Im getting very annoyed and frustrated with the whole thing, I just want it to fly..

Anyway I'll keep in touch with you guys. My skype is TONYTOSH60 should anyone want to chat

Tony the issue could be a bad flash because you where having driver issues. Don't give up mate. I've sent you aa Skype add. I'm off work next week and got a flip 32 to setup so we could do it together via Skype if you like. that way we can double check everything.

Tony two things pop into mind one cos it nearly caught me out,

The yaw correction, did you turn the board and did you put in this correction, when I first done mine on the cc3d I had it 180 deg out and it flipped the quad,

And the second, the motor positions on the naze32 are weird compared to the cc3d and they start at the back come forward trend diagonal then forward, I looked at it a few times and did not spot that until just before I spun the motors up,

If you want throw it in a box and send it down to me, I will get it in the air for you,

Thanks to Dan, Kev and Lee for helping me sort this bloody quad out on skype tonight, it's finally going although I haven't tried it outside yet as its too late and dark....

Tell you what guys, I've been on the verge of quitting this hobby so many times now I can't remember, what with the probs I had with the 2 helis I had and now with 2 quads, well one, but Lee totally rebuilt it again after a dive in the river..

Anyway, if it wasn't for you guys on here and A few more guys on RCH giving me all the help and support to get me going again I'd probably have left this hobby ages ago...

So let me say a BIG thank you to you all. The bad news is you all have me a bit longer....   :) :D

Thats really good to hear, Tony! "Well done!" to Lee, Dan, and Kev for helping you out. Tony...we all have our ups and downs. Some of us have more "ups" than "downs" and some of us are vice versa. Unfortunately, the "downs" are a part of this naughty hobby that we all love. I think there are a lot of us that have built a great comradery with you and I'm sure that you share the same thoughts. We're all here to help each other out, encourage each other, learn from each other, and progress together. I do hope that you give your quad another fair chance. Take your time (over grass, lol) and just practice. You bought all that FPV gear and I know that you've got to be wanting to give that a go. It just takes patience and perseverance.

Stick around buddy! Wait for some good practice weather. I don't think it's going to do you any good to be out practicing while you are shivering away and your fingers get cold. I can't fly with cold fingers. I'm a "stick pincher" so I really need to be able to feel the sticks as they move. That's why I'm waiting (impatiently, lol) for some flyable weather.

Ok...I'm done preaching, lol. Keep your chin up and learn from what's going on. You've got a great "support team" here.

Yeah Tony, wot he said. :)
I do ok now, but I had my share of trials and tribulations.
Making the move to quads had it's problems but getting the mini is the best thing I ever did.
Stick to it mate, you will get there. :)
