It's a nice looking drone, guess it depends on what you want it to do. Not something I would want though it has too many limitations, works off wifi, that has limited range... Personally I've enjoyed the fun in the build of my 250 quad, and setting it all up. Then just thrashing it around the field flying Los.. I can't see many quad fliers on here buying one of those. Watch some of Dan's vids, or stambos and you will see where the fun is...

Nice video, Dustin! I think these types of quads have their own purposes. Mostly for simple fun, simple video, and any type of stick time would be considered "stick time". Nice job buddy!!!

Yea tony This is what I like doing so I will try to do more videos like this, I wanna video the swamps here but my drone uses sonar and a camera to see the ground, so it will think it's over land and want to land, I want to get a blade 350 qx3 ap or a phantom 2 vision plus

that seems to be an issue with these ready built drones, your fixed to do what the manufactures think you want to do..
have you not considered building your own quad250..?? they are not expensive to make..

If you want a quad for aerial video, a 250 size is not the best to work with.
A 450 or 500 sized quad would be more suited, but also more expensive.
If you just want to have fun and record some video along the way, a 250 with FPV is hard to beat as many on this forum can attest to.
One thing is for sure, whatever you do there will be someone here to help if you need it.

Plane FPV is also a lot of fun and takes great video. I've never had a good enough camera, so I never posted any of my video, but now that I have my Mobius, I'll share my plane videos too. Dustin, your AR Drone is a good starter....but....if you want to reach out further, FPV quads are amazing! Do some searching on Youtube for FPV plane flying and FPV quad flying. Base your decision on what you see. I love FPV plane flying. It's awesome fun and I don't have to worry about tilting the camera upwards to get the scenery in view. I wanted an FPV 250 quad because I've seen many videos (Lee and Stambo have great examples) of people flying their quads fast and low....along tree lines...over crops...through goal posts, etc, etc. I had to have one.
I'm sure that you are gonna come up with questions, Dustin....we'll be here to answer them and point you in a good direction.

theres a mirumod for my ar drone that will allow me to use my DX6i but also lets me use my phone for FPV, i dont like the idea of me not being able to move the camera with the ar drone, theres even a opting that allows me to use a GPS

Seems quite versatile then for the size of it, and the price....

The problem with using your phone for FPV, I assume it uses WIFI, is lag.
At altitude as long as it's not too much, not really an issue.
If you want to fly it like we fly our MiniQuads then it is a major problem.
At 60kmh, which most MiniQuads are well capable of, we cover over 15m per second.
This means lag even at as little as 200ms puts you at least 3m further along than you think you are.
By the time you see the tree and try to avoid it you are already parked in it.
