I'm no expert but sounds to me that your "Fly Buddy" is jealous of you and your flying ability. Sounds like he's always trying to be better then you since he's older gentlemen and it Doesn't help that he's your sister boyfriend either. He's trying to be a... "Legend in his own mine." For safety issues, just keep your eye out on him and the people around the environment your flying in...... OR...... Do what I do and be straight up with him. Tell him he's dangerous individual with a deadly weapon and if he wants to fly with you, he must understand that the heli "Any RC" it's not a "TOY." Any RC machine can be dangerous if not taken seriously. If he doesn't take it seriously and doesn't want to listen to you and your words of wisdom, fine a new fly buddy. Need to distance your self from this gentlemen before you or anyone else become a casualty of uncontrolled flying. Good luck Derek. You seem like a nice person and you don't need to associate your self with Idiots like that. Do your self a favor and fly with your dad. He seems more responsible then your fly buddy.

You're right, DOG!

I've just finally decided to eliminate the danger and carelessness of being around Tracy. I will not be flying with him anymore, unless he can prove to me that he's ready to be safe....unlikely. My Dad is now my full time flying buddy.

600 over a soccer field? No thanks. Seems you're better off flying with your old man or getting new flying buddies.

Thanks for the comment, Marius and you're right! I'll definitely be much better off flying with my Dad. I've also, recently, gotten my full "approved" membership status with the local flying club. I can go there whenever I want. I can take part in their fun fly events. I can meet new rc flyers. I'm very much looking forward to flying with safety conscious flyers from now on.

Change is a good thing! Especially when it comes to dangerous situation that can happen and you have no control of it. If I'm going to get blame for something I did is one thing but if I get blame for something that someone else did, I don't think so. I get in enough trouble on my own without any outside help! Your better of my friend with dad on your side. :)

I echo everyone else's thoughts on this Derek.
A 600 heli is a dangerous weapon in the wrong hands and it sounds like Tracy's hands are the wrong hands.
You are better off to distance yourself from the potential disaster.
I think you have made the right decision.

I agree with you, Graham. I dont want him hurt nor do i want anyone else hurt. I can promise that he wont have the chance to hurt me, my spectators, nor my property because I've eliminated myself from that equation. Im quite content with a safer environment.

Well hopefully he sells his stuff like he said. I'd hate to see you posting a local news story about some moron with a 600 laying waste to a field of kids playing soccer.

Doing stupid stuff with a micro is one thing. Going it with a flying pair of scimitars is another. Given the grief he's given you and that you've put yourself through in dealing with him, trying to be the better man in all of it... I say good decision to cut bait on being his flying mentor and partner. You gave it a good try. The horse didn't come to the water, might as well stop throwing buckets... or something. :)

Imagine what her reaction would be If you or her boyfriend or anyone else in the matter "Spectators" end up getting hurt because of careless flying. She will talk then I bet. Good luck Derek. Your an intelligent person so this should be a no brainier. Bonus point for you If he sells his 600 Huh. You might get a discount!

Yes, I can imagine my sisters reaction if something bad were to happen to someone or someone's property because of a case of negligence. It wouldn't be pretty at all.

I seriously doubt that Tracy will sell his rc stuff. On his "good days", he really does do quite well. When I say his "good days", I'm meaning that he's paying attention to the model, doing preflight checks, checking cg, and he's left the "oh well" attitude at home. It's those "oh well" days that bother me. I could never have an "oh well" moment with even my smallest plane because it can still dent a car, crack a car window, or (worse yet), cut someone open. Surely they would live, but it would be a horrible thing to happen and a moment that I could never get out of my mind for the rest of my life. I'm just not willing to take that risk...therefore "I" choose to be safe with my models and "I" have chosen to eliminate the risk of getting hurt because he is having an "oh well" day.

As for possibly buying his 600, because I know him as well as I do, I am sure that he's be asking $1200 or more for the helicopter. It's just not an option, lol.
