My Truck Is Finally Mine!!!

Post by Derek »

I just made the final payment on my Chevy Trailblazer. I spoke with the bank and they will send out the title work once my online payment has processed.

Absolutely too cool!!! Now, a bit of X-mas shopping and then I can start replenishing the "RC Funds" after the New Year. I'll be working on a new charging station, new workbench in my garage, and some new batteries.

It's a great feeling Derek, not owing for a vehicle,

We were lucky we just had to get two new cars, but we had enough in savings, just got to pay back the savings now, mind when I say new I mean new to us, both 3 years old

Amazing what difference that will make to your weekly budget. :)
I am looking forward to being mortgage free in 6 years time. (After nearly 30 years in debt.)
Be like a $1000 per month pay rise.
Unfortunately I will still have a business debt but that will suddenly become more manageable.

Yes! We've had a few extra "stresses" but it has been manageable. With the truck being paid for now, it will definitely make things "that much" easier, for sure!!!

Yeah, it will be an awesome difference to the weekly/monthly budget. It's really exciting! As for my mortgage, lol, that's gonna be a bit longer, lol.

I couldn't have said it better, Graham! This will allow funds to be diverted to my RC fund, lol. Although I think I'm going to step away from FPV quad, for now, I have plans for two new FPV planes. One for my 5.8ghz system and one for my 1.3ghz system. My 5.8ghz project is in the build phase now and I have a shopping list for parts for the 1.3ghz FPV plane.

Actually Paul....I think you are quite right. However, I was thinking about two new trucks. I was thinking about getting a pair of Traxxas 1/10 or 1/8 scale trucks for the wife and I, lol.

That's cool, Lee! I think it would be great to have a motorcycle. On the other hand, I'll probably never own one because it's not something that I can use all year 'round.

Hmmm. I rode mine all year around. I don't think I had or wanted a car until I was 20 or 21. Yep, every day at school and such. Man I was crazy. But I was younger then...as best I can remember. LOL

I like the exposed skeleton look of that one, Lee. :) Reminds me of the Ariel Atom.

Derek, bikes are much cheaper to own and keep on the road compared to cars. Makes them much more easily owned for fair weather fun.

Without a doubt, bikes are cheaper to own and keep on the road compared to cars but I just don't want one because I wouldn't be able to run it all year long. "Fair weather fun" just isn't acceptable for something that costs $10k+. If I were to spend $10k+ on something for fun, like a bike, I would get this:
2016-Polaris-RZR-XP-4-Turbo-EPS-Action-3-500x285.jpg
2016-Polaris-RZR-XP-4-Turbo-EPS-Action-3-500x285.jpg (30.53 KiB) Viewed 1652 times
Now this...I could run ALL year long. Sun, rain, snow, yeah buddy!!! Although the local PD probably would appreciate it, I'd probably be tempted to run this thing to work in the winters, lol. THAT would be awesome fun!!!

Nonetheless, I'm glad that my Trailblazer is paid off and it's mine. Now I can get the parts ordered to get my heli's back in the air, get the parts ordered for my new charging station, and, get the lumber for a new workbench in my garage.

$10k+? You can get a very nice bike for way less than that. Bought both my bikes for a total of $8k. Both used. FZ6 with some scratches from when someone dropped it. Plenty of power. Great riding bike. Second is a 2002 Roadstar. Many miles but very well taken care of. Clean, custom paint, bunch of chrome, pipes, saddlebags.

Unless you're a "Harley or nothing" kind of person, then there are a lot of options out there for $3 or less, and a ton for $5k or less.
