Disappointed in Hobby King

I've been buying parts, and a few planes, from Hobby King for nearly 10 years. They have been my "go to" place for parts. I've recommended them to my friends many times. I've defended them in heated debates on social media. Unfortunately, I am quite done with HK from now on.

Over the past few months, I've ordered parts and their Processing times are getting longer and longer. I was on their Live Chat with an HK Rep, last week, about a concern that I had with an esc that I received and wasn't working. That rep was rude and would not give me a replacement nor a refund. I tried to order another esc, just the other day, and I noticed that the order was still "Processing" after 30 hours had past from the time of my order completion. I spoke with a much nicer Rep on Live Chat and he told me that it would take 2-4 days to process the order. I'm sorry but that is just unacceptable!!! I've never had to wait that long for an HK order to get processed and shipped. It's very disappointing! I asked the rep to cancel my order and refund my money. Thankfully, he did.

I'll just shop elsewhere. I found a comparable esc, to the one that I ordered from HK, on another site. I ordered it and got a notification of Processing and Shipping within 5 hours. That's much better! I would be quite ok with 24 hours to process an order but 2-4 days is just not good customer service.

I'm sorry Hobby King! Our relationship is now over.

Thats a shame to hear Derek:( I have used them a lot in the past, however not bought anything for a while. Maybe Covid is worse ijn China than they let on and this has impacted on their business, i would imagine?

Assuming you were ordering from US warehouse sites, Derek? They may well be suffering lingering effects of COVID manufacturing and shipment delays. That said, I'd expect them to do what any good company would do and pile on the charm and customer service to smooth things out.
