Got me a plane hauler now!

Post by Vipertech13 »

Time to move up from my 96 Neon to something more, 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport. PLANE HAULER!
I got it for $1000 bucks off the wholesale lot at work!

Needs a little work but not too bad really, it is drive-able as it sets.

Looks pretty clean from that shot of it. Nice find.

It is very clean and inside is nice too. It will need exhaust, muffler and tail pipe and valve cover gaskets. The tires are new and brakes are good, A/C works great.

That's really great, Gerald! My wife has a 2003 Dodge Caravan Sport. It's red like yours. It rides very well and is VERY roomy. I have a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer. It's roomy and I love the truck but the Caravan is just awesome. I'm sure you'll like it very much!!!

Nice, I am thinking how cool it would be to have a utility van. Kinda like one of those Euro styled fords. If your small time like me then that would be a decent travel work shop.

I want to design a rack system for it that will safely hold planes and equipment yet be light enough to remove for "normal" use. The rear seat comes out easy enough, flip two levers and it pops up on its rollers and can be rolled out of the van. That being said it is a heavy bugger to lift down to the ground and back up in. The middle seats are easy too but again heavy. So with all rear seats out it can haul standard sheets of plywood and you can still close the rear gate. Lots of room to work with but for now I gotta fix the engine leaks, Timing cover sprung a big coolant leak yesterday and the valve covers are leaking too so planes to the back burner. :(

I know all about those seats. I have taken mine out a few times already.
