Thats Life, I guess.

My wife has been training, for the National Police Force for the last 6 months.
The first test to pass, is the physical test.
Over the 6 months, her times have dropped considerably, to the point, that she should easily pass.

Well the test was yesterday, but four days before, she suffered a leg injury.
She went to the physio and doctor to see what they could do to speed the recovery.
It worked a bit but not enough.
We had to travel to the North of Spain for the test, and all Hotels and train journeys, were already paid for.
She did the test, but could hardly do any of the agility exercises.
The last event was the 1km run. Her time before the injury was down to just over 4mins.
She only managed 4.50.
She tried her best, to the point that afterward, she couldn't walk at all, and will need a long recovery period.

Next test is in one years time. :(
She is disappointed, but is going to give it one more go next year.

Lets hope things go better next time.

Bummer dude.
A year between tests, that's harsh.
Good to hear she is not deterred.
Better luck next time. :)

Sorry to here that Lee. Tell your wife not to give up and look at it like as a challenge for next year. Look how close she was to her time when she was Injured and down, Now Imagine with her determination and the will to give it one more shot next year........ after a slow but full year to recovery "One day at a time"....... have the second chance to achieve her goal. I was given a second chance and I made my goal. GO FOR IT!!!!

Thanks guys,
She is very determined to achieve her goals, whatever they are.
Next year the test will be one month before her 40th birthday.
That will be her last chance.

I have to say a 4.50 1K is really good. I know soldiers who can't do that. Keep the head up and slowly work on it.

Speaking of running I need to start back at it.
