Well I have been looking for a Taranis for a while because of the size of the Rx's and the diversity, but found the lemoxnrx diversity sat to do that now,
So I had the chance to get hold of a little used dx9 off a mate so jumped at it tonight, and my dx8 is going to a new home next week

I had been asking him for a while and he's kept hold of it and not used it in like 6 months, so yesterday he finally gave in at a good price, included a lipo and life battery and all the original box contents as well as a 6210 rx and satellite,
They have brought out a new dx8 as well but I don't know why they would do that
surely on a commercial point why have a 6 7 8 9 10t then huge jump to 18 and 20, thought 6 7 9 would have been enough.
but wanted the 9 for the countdown voice for when in fpv and the solid antenna more than any other features,
lets see how it goes I recon,

I have a friend that has the DX9 and he loves it. Personally, I find the voice notifications a bit annoying, but that's just me. I still have the gen 1 DX8 and it's working great for me. If/when it goes out, I'll be looking at the DX9. I think the DX18 is just way too much for what I'd use it for.

Taranis does the same Derek but having pack voltage read to you periodically or having a low voltage warning set up can be extremely helpful when flying FPV.
Some people tend to overdo it, I did initially but the novelty soon wore off and now I just stick to what I need.

Voice alerts are totally configurable on what is said when, how loud, and in what language/voicing. I like it myself. Nice to have that audible confirmation on rate switches, flight mode switches, etc. Haven't used it with an telemetry yet.

True a feature I loved about my DX9... It didn't have to be annoying.. Set it how u want to give u what u want, when u want. My be a novelty on electric.. But the nitro models it was a godsend! I'm hoping the voice feature on my 18sz will be similar to DX9.. Find out this weekend.

Nope, not just a novelty on electric, almost a necessity for FPV.
Nothing beats knowing your pack voltage and how far you can push it when you are wearing FPV goggles.
RSSI warnings are good too.

Well yeah.. FPV.. I was referring to helis... It's all subjective tho... Ull never catch me without the old fashioned timer use! Lol

Yeah, I can understand the convenience of the voice notifications while under the goggles. Maybe its just how my friend has his set up....its just annoying lol

Just set up my first quad and found out I have to relearn how to do things,
But once you get the jist it was not to bad, voice alerts for timer and flight mode is going to be nice, but is the alerts customisable in each model.

Don't forget the volume... While u can control the overall volume off the home display.. U can also program the default volume for each model individually.. Really useful.. Small birds are quiet so u don't need a lot of volume.. Niger birds are louder so u want a little more.. Nitro even louder and so one.. I never maxed it out tho as at 100% the speaker gets crackly sounding.
