Yes guys, definitely take the time to do this. They will ask your zip code to look up your senators and it will then auto send a form letter to them (you get a chance to modify it if you wish). Can be very quick, or if you want to put your own modifications in the letter then a little longer.

The regs they are proposing in the senate version of the FAA reauth act are insane. Examples:

- Require model aircraft to be certified by the FAA for design and airworthiness. This would potentially impact all model manufacturers producing or selling in the US and it may even go as far as impacting scratch and kit builds at home.
- Placing hard 400' limit on all model aircraft flight in the US. Regardless of AMA or not. Regardless of discipline of modeling.
- All model aircraft pilots, AMA or not, having to pass an FAA created written test and carry with them their issued permit/qualification.

Those are just the ones I've heard of so far. The bill is 300 something pages long. AMA is requesting people write to support an amendment by Senator Inhofe that strips back those and other regulatory changes, bringing the Senate version much more in-line with the House version, which AMA has already voiced support for.
