Should be great for it all.. I'm associated with DRL actually and we are working on developments in mixed mode AR+VR.

Cool.
The winners have to have someone to beat, I'm in.

I'm watching DRL on ESPN2 right now
. These guys are intense when it comes to racing
. Very neat but out of my budget. Maybe one day
.

In reading, sounds like they're kind of taking a non-live type approach. Instead of broadcasting live race events, they're going to get footage and then create episodes/packages. I think this is smart. Allows them to edit things down and try out different ways of capturing things without the pressures of making things interesting during a live broadcast. Maybe out of that they'll figure out how best to capture the live event and be able to transition into live broadcast when they've figured out how to make it compelling.
Just going off the coverage of the Drone Nationals on Long Island a month or two ago, I think they struggled to capture the quads as they went around the course, to find and convey "excitement", and ultimately didn't really know how to deal with the sport as a spectator/broadcast event. There will be a few more false starts on this yet, I bet, but trying to do this in a post-produced episode format has a lot of potential to make things much more compelling from a viewer perspective.
