My mate that I introduced to flying about 18 months ago....

Started with a KDS ... sold ... bought a TREX 450 Pro ... crashed it about 12 times learning [just not good at following my instructions + he lives 665Km away]

Sold ... Bought a TREX 500PRO .... crashed about 6 times...
Sold ... bought a Goblin 500 = Still in one piece...

The guy is crazy .... I stand behind him when he is flying as he flies too close for my comfort .... and if it is going to get me ... it is getting him first....

Anyway December .... I get a cool ... he is real excited ... tells me he has bought a TREX 700 with only 5 flights on it .... I tell him ... "Make sure you put your Helicommand Bavarian on it before you fly that beast mate, or you will completely toast it!!!" - "Or .... just hovering and very ... very slow close in circuits with slow control...."... DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES... put it in ID1 or ID2 modes
....
Anyhow ... a week later I get a TXT saying "RIP TREX 700"
Laughing to myself .... I call him and ask him " WHAT HAPPENED"

he Replies " I was going really well and .... then lost orientation .... had it INVERTED!!!!! and had it all going well at about 6 feet off the ground in ID2 [100% Flat THROTTLE CURVE]

any HOOOWWWWW...... he went to pump it up and out ..... and pulled FULL POSITIVE PITCH

It punched itself in the ground so hard... it burst into flames from the battery exploding ... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHa

After I stopped laughing ... [Took a full 2 minutes to pick the phone up off the floor while I was rolling in laughter ... LMAO] ... i asked what is left ...... he says NOTHING ... not one recognisable part ... it went everywhere..... LOL

Then ... to make it worse..... he rings me a week before XMAS .... and says ... Guess what SANTA is bringing me for Xmas ..... A BRAND NEW ... GOBLIN 700 COMPETITION!!!!

The guys just has no common sense and too much money I think IMHO hahahha

haha ... he is actually getting quite good too .... more "KAUHUNAS" than me ... but I am too scared to sacrifice the cost of a perfect Goblin 630!

Who is this guy, I'd like to meet him, I have this big metal tower in France I want to sell.

You just have to admire his persistence though? Many would have quit long ago. I like him

Me too ... I can't help it .... he is so full on passionate .... I can't help myself but smile..... he is coming up on the 4th Feb and 3 of us are going flying.

I certainly didn't have his money but I was crazy like that when I first started. I spent a small fortune the first two years. Guess I'm still paying for it now. But I don't crash much these days and I typically don't fly conservative. It does help flying around other people because you do learn from them, mistakes included and you realize how boring conservative flying can be. I flew yesterday for the first time in a month, I was very nervous with the heli but was tossing my plane around fairly well. I was the maiden of my rebuilt 500. Build 23...
