Derek's Delta Wing With Naze32

So...I've come back to this thought that I had last year. It's just been a thought that I haven't been able to get out of my head and I figured that I had the time to experiment with this because the weather here is crap. So, I've got one of my favorite little Wing builds (ExperimentalAirlines "Delta Wing) and I've got one of my Acro Naze32 boards mounted and the firmware flashed to the latest "stable" selection. Now, to connect the esc and servos to the board. In the "Configuration" tab, the follow image is displayed:

It shows "1/2" in the middle. "3" is most likely the Left Aileron and "4" is most likely the Right Aileron. Besides the two ailerons, there is only one other connection that I'd need....the ESC. Is this saying that I can connect the ESC to either "1" or "2" or what is this telling me?

That's not much help, Graham, because that image looks like the instructions for the HK stabilizer that I use. On my wing, I'm using the Naze32 and I just wanted to know if the ESC gets plugged into number 1 or number 2.....or if it matters.

How about this:)

YES! That's perfect!

That image shows that the ESC goes into number 1 and number 2 is simply not used.

Thanks for that, Graham!!!

You may find that 2 is for the second motor on a twin motor setup.
Be interested to see how you get on with this as I want to put an FC on my big wing if it ever flys. :)

That's quite possible, Stambo. I didn't think of that.

I'll be messing around with this little wing, as time allows. I just need to hunt down another 6 channel rx so that I can make use of the flight modes.

Ok, I've got everything installed on my lil wing. Now, I'm using a Spektrum AR6100e receiver. Is this a CPPM receiver? I honestly don't know. I was trying to get the servos to move, but when I'm in the RECEIVER tab in Cleanflight, nothing moves accept for the GEAR switch (to change flight modes).

Any thoughts?

Mine is a genuine Spektfum ex. It came on the Blade SIRthat I bought 4 years ago. I just need to know what setting in Cleanflight to use to get everything talking to each other. Like I said, I can see that the Gear switch is working in the Receiver tab but nothing else is working. Im sure Im just missing something.

Cleanflight should be set to PWM.
How many wires do you have hooked up Derek?

I have the esc and two servos connected to the Naze board. I have it setup like I did my quad. Unfortunately Im at work right now. I'll post some pics on Monday when Im at home. Im sure its something simple that Im just overlooking.

I mean between the naze and the rx.
If it is not PPM you will need all the channels hooked up.

Yeah, like I mentioned, ill post more details on Monday. Im sure we'll sort it out.

I just don't know the difference between PPM, CPPM, and PWM. In the Cleanflight setup, it says something about a "serial port." I don't know what that is, either.

That was insightful. I love the videos by Painles360.

I have my wing set up with PWM, at the moment. Now that I know the difference, I will check Cleanflight on Monday and see if I can get it to work.

Thanks Stambo!!!

OK, the following is a pic of how I have the esc and two servos connected to the Naze32.

The left wire, with the torriod, is the esc...plugged into port 1 one the Naze
The middle wire is the "left wing" servo
The right wire is the "right wing" servo

I guess I'm looking for suggestions if I should continue to setup the wing like this or should I simply set it up for PPM, with a single servo wire.

Is the Naze32 seeing your inputs from the rx in the receiver tab now?
I see no reason why this should not work as long as your channel mapping is right.
