I have an HKII 2221-8 3S scorpion motor with 360mm blades. What a difference that extra bit of blade gives. I am not selling, its my only motor that's worth anything.

Yes a good Pro pilot can fly a 6s heli on 3 s
But someone with out good management will bog the head and most likely crash
Most all of us could hover it and move it around but do 3d with it would be a whole new game for most
I was not saying it could not be done more of saying its not a practical set up

No but for someone doing non inverted sport flying it should not be an issue. If your going to do 3d then collective management is going to be a must. This flight was improved so they did not have the time to do a proper setup either. This is going to be a smooth 3d not smack, plus I dont think DOG is into 3d yet.

The lower head speed on a small bird like a 450 to me seems to make it less stable

It does but at the same time it improves a pilots ability to control it. Lower head speeds show flaws in a pilots ability to handle the heli. A pilot can "hide" a lot of mistakes in control simply because the head speed is "stabilizing" the aircraft. Collective management is almost non existent because the disk has the power to compensate. If a pilot wants to really learn how to fly; low head speeds are better than high head speeds. Plus at lower head speeds the pilot will not be able to fly beyond their means in regards to 3d flight. This also makes for a great way to learn finesse on the sticks.

Lots of pros for low head speed and there are some cons as well. Can't do 3d, unless you know how to already. Stability can be an issue, harder to control and others that I have not mentioned.
