Hello, I've been looking for a new motor for a Gaui X3. I've seen this motor and it caught my eye. This motor suppose to run cooler then the Scorpion HK 2520-1880Kv. The only thing I haven't heard anything good or bad on the Xnova motors. The two are very close on specs. It's a toss up between the two which I should purchased I appreciate it If anyone can give me some kind of information on this motor. Thanks in advance.

I've heard good things about them.. But have no personal knowledge of them. Adrian (The Rotors Show) likes them..

Also have heard good on XNova, especially for higher performance applications. Also tend to be a bit more expensive I think.

Very good motors by all accounts.
I'd like to try an Xnova motor myself.

I do agree with you Paul about more $$$ but $80.00 for Scorpion $92.00 Xnova and 3 good reviews from you guys. I'm going for it! :o The wife stated " You got everything else new "TX/Gyro/ESC/ Servos" and not cheap, why be cheap know on the motor" 8-) She doesn't have to tell me twice! Thanks for the help. Maybe I can finally get this Gaui in the air and stay in the air longer then 30secs  Then I can stop asking too many questions!

I here they are way more efficient then anything out there. Now the Xnova motor for the Gaui X3 is only $20 more. The only thing you need to check is how well it works with the hobby wing. I am looking at the lesser Xnova for my Gaui. Might I digress, I here nothing but good.

Hey murankar, how would I check to see if the Xnova works with the hobbywing ESC? cml001, Paul, Lee and your self had nothing but good to say about this motor. Good enough for me to purchase this motor. HeliDirect has it for $92.99, Scorpion for $79.99 I figure for $12.00 more and it runs cooler, yeah man! The two motors specs are really close and if the hobbywing 50a V3 ESC works with the scorpion, shouldn't the ESC work with the Xnova? Which Xnova were you looking at murankar?

If you have a concern send email or call XNova and/or hobbywing to ask. I wouldn't anticipate any issues, though.

I just received an email from Dave Mullen from Anythingheli. Great information he passed on to me and the 2618-1580Kv will be in my hands early next week! Thanks for everyone's help. :D

:) nice. Nice to know their smaller motors don't have a huge price premium. I know on their larger ones it can be pretty significant.

Yeah! The information was very helpful. I've been buying pretty much all my Gaui X3 parts from Dave "Anythingheli". He has a good stock collection & goobies too! My CNC Tail assembly with CNC tail rotor grip plus another set of RJX 362mm blades just arrived today :D . Once the motor arrives, I should be all set for the time being, I hope.

I know the one is a power house and the other is not as powerful but still runs great. The stronger one is for extreme smack 3d.

Yes sir murankar. I ordered the 1580Kv "No Smack" for the X3 from Dave Mullen from Anythingheli. He was great help and point in the right direction to the set-up for the HobbyWing V3 ESC.

Lee was right about this motor and ESC. All I have to worry about is the Timing and PWM. The rest can stay at default settings. Easy enough for me. That's the way I like it! :)
