Re: ESC

Post by DOG »

Here i go again. I just got my Gaui X3 tail to stop shaking by replacing the new motor with the old. This afternoon i took the Gaui for a real test flight. Not even 10 sec into my flight the gaui went into a pin wheel spin effect and crashed. Found out that one of my tail blades broke off right where the screw goes through the blade. I got lucky with min. damage. Tail blade and my esc lost one of the resistor. I was thinking about getting the hobbywing 50a esc with the programming card. It all comes out to be around $90.75 wo Tax. Too much $$$ for me. So the hobbywing 40a Funflyer w/built in bec caught my eyes next for the price. I don't know much about this esc and how good it performs! Can anyone help me out? Thanks again!

 , sorry about that. The hobbywing 40a Funflyer with built in Bec. I have a programming card floating around somewhere. I bought one when i was learning how to fly and can't remember if it was good or not since i didn't know any better back then. Most of the time i paying more attension on trying not to crash then how the heli flew. Now since i still don't know any better  I might try one of those "Hobbywing Funflyer" again!

I've not used a Hobbywing esc on a heli but I do have that same Hobbywing 40amp esc on one of my planes. It's been on there for over a year and is still working.....so, there must be "some kind" of quality in it, lol.

People seem to like the latest generation hobbywing ESCs. Not sure if the one you're looking at falls into the camp.

Mine is stuck on 6 cell and i need it set for 3 cell. The closes i can get is to 4 cell. I'm not sure if you can even clear the ESC out. Help please.

That's ok! No software with this ESC. I did manage to get 3 beep indicating 3 cell but on the program card it shows up 4 cell. :? I haven't put her in the air yet. So do i trust the card or the 3 beep on the ESC or just say the *%@# and put her in the air, pray and see what happens.

Yep esc's are a clone of YGE esc's and they auto detect cell count, with my YGE I just had to do a throttle calibration if I change cell count.
