Hey there all, while charging my 3s batteries last night, some how one of the batteries ended up with a charge of 13.6. With the battery having a high charge, will it hurt my electronics if i use this battery? This is the first time i had a problem over charging a battery and not sure what to do. Thanks!

Yes my charger does discharge/storage but it won't for some reason. Keep saying High voltage. That's why i was wondering if i can fly it.

The charger is working fine now and i can discharge/storage the battery back to normal. What can cause the battery to charge so high? Why the charger wouldn't let me discharge before but now i can? I'm thinking it's about time for a new charger, probably. It is about 5 yrs old. I have know idea how long they last anyway. Thanks fore the input! :)

That's what i said Lee. I just finished burning up 6 batteries this morning before it got into the low 90's. I'm getting ready to going to start charging up more batteries for this evening flying. I'll keep my eyes on the charger/batteries and see what happens this time.

I have no idea what happen this morning but this afternoon i had the chance to charge some batteries "6" and no problem with the charger/batteries this time :? . Like Lee said "Strange" I don't know but for the time being it's working, that's good. I'll be keeping my eyes on the charger while I'm charging my 6s batteries this evening.

What charger? My iCharger has a setting to set what voltage is desired per cell and a max setting for how many mah are put in.. Check ur settings maybe... That's is just way weird.

Nothing like the icharger. I have a copterx B601 charger that is about 5 yrs old. This was the first it ever did this and i just finished charging 6 batteries again "12 total" and no problems. Weird is right, just hope it doesn't happen again.

It could have just been a glitch in the charger software when it booted up.

Hey there danhampson, thanks for that information but i think i found out the problem. It's my "HK" parallel charging board. Went to charge this morning and my battery was ready 11.1 and when i plugged the battery to this one charging connector, the charger said High Cell. Tried a couple of times and same result. Tried the other side and Bingo so i think is time for a new charging board. It's not even couple month old. Oh well, thanks everyone for your support. I appreciated it. :D

Can this have something to do with it?

I think it's missing some copper soldering. Any ideas?

Yup. Looks like you cooked some traces. Probably tried to plug a balance lead in backwards and made some pin contact, while another was already plugged in. Result, pop!

Looks like you should be able to continue using the balance plugs on the other side of the board, but that right side will be useless.

You may be able to repair it by soldering some jumpers from the via holes (just visible along the bottom edge of the large gauge red insulation) to the matching pins on that first 2S balance connector (on the other side of the board).

Eeewwww.. Wouldn't even trust the balance... I'd scrap it!

Yeahhhh, I do believe it needs to go. I don't need any unsuspected surprises like a house fire or something. :o
