Most guys I know flying vbar are using futaba or the new vcontrol. I don't know if it supports spektrum sats or not. Could maybe use it with a full rx?

I do not have any "hands on experience", but a lot of the "old school" pilots at the strip swears by V-bar. Personally I don't get it, seeing how expensive it is - but most of those guys have used V-bar since it came out. Some have even tried other FBL's, but gone back to V-bar - so there has to be something about that FBL that's good...?

I've also heard that V-bar is very particular about limits on travel and such, so expect some mechanical adjustment to get a good setup.

I used to have a mini vbar, I liked how it flew on my logo. I used spektrum satellites with it. Its not unreasonably priced I don't think.

I'm thinking of trying the Vbar Neo Express which is in line which the price of the Brain/Ikon. Its available here (http://www.fast-lad.co.uk/store/product ... s_id=32977) but looks backordered at helidirect.

It comes with electric Gov but need to check if Express has nitro Gov or not.

I used the K-bar (vbar clone) on my 450, and tbh it was great, easy to set up and use,

the Neo looks good, but the benefits of that come with the V control TX I believe,

Seems like that's what I'm reading.. Not sure.. No one here uses V Bar.. I'm not getting off Spektrum.. If I were it would be for Futaba.. But I don't see that happening either.

I have used both the mini K bar and the Ikon they fly about the same . The v bar set up is a lot nicer looking than the Ikons
Yes the Mini and full size can use spektrum sats
Bad thing on the mini is you have to be careful with the servo power . the power bus is not that good and servos that pull alot can brown out easy
This is why I changed to the Ikon

I have my knee on a sat and works fine. Get a neo it has more options without needing pro. They have to versions, get the non rx ready one. The rx ready is for vcontrol.

The new neo is competitively priced, out of the box.
There are some hidden extras though.
If you want certain features to work, you have to pay for the update.

While they are extra, if you read and understand the description of what you are buying I wouldn't call them hidden.

Well.. After doing some research and reading the post from u guys, thank u.. I think ive jumped off the fence and decided to stick with iKON. As tempted as I am to try V Bar.. Very tempted to be honest.. I don't want a fleet of birds that feel different.. Nor do I want a new learning curve that would be involved with a FBL unit that I am unfamiliar with. Couple that with the fact that I know if I do like it, I'll want to install one on each bird in the fleet.. And if I don't I still have the hassle of selling it to get a iKON(prolly would like it tho). Then there is expense, I'd want all the features.. I would.. So I'd end up with $400+ FBL unit... So that said I'll stick with the trusty iKON.

Vbar is rather simple to setup. You follow the setup wizard and then set gains based on the slider options for starters. Then auto trim your done.
