If I remember correctly;

I tried the Spektrum RPM sensor, but that was NOT compatible.
Got a Hobbywing sensor, split the signal leads - one signal for the Ikon, one for the TM1100.

The pack voltage and temp sensor are joined at the TM1100 with an included Y-lead.

The TM1100 is powered through it's dataport.

With this setup I have

Headspeed
Flight pack voltage
Rx pack voltage
ESC temp

There were a lot of troubleshooting to make all this work. But I think that's mostly because it was my first time setting up telemetry - next time around I think I'll set it up much quicker. Once everything was wired up correctly, the binding procedure was easy peasy - I just did as the manual instructed.

Ikon runs the GOV in my setup. Tx connection is DSMX 11ms. Electric helicopter - DU'UH!
ALSO: I had to solder on a standard Spektrum SAT-connector for use on the Ikon GOV port - I do not think I had to alter the pin order.

Ok.. So it'll work then.. I'll be using nitro w a backplate sensor.. Now my only ? Is will I be able to use a "y" connection to send 2 rpm signals.. 1 for ikon & 1 for telem.. If not I'll have to use 2 sensors... Backplate for ikon & a magnet of the bell for the telem.

Blind guess, but I think it will work with just a Y-harness.
